So many choices...
After reading through all the headset threads on this site, it seems to me that there are two commonly used headsets: the Motorola NFL Head Coach,
which is actually called the Motorola Gaming Headset X205, and the Logitech PS2 and PS3, which is actually called the Vantage USB Headset.
Going through some of the reviews, there were inevitably problems with each. With the X205, the sound quality was often terrible, and there was
talk of cords shorting and such. With the Vantage, durability was an issue there, as well as the mic, with which it seems that length is an issue with some
people where the mic "...only reaches the middle of your cheek, instead of actually reaching the front of your mouth."
Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should use?
What sort of problems have you experienced with your headset(s)?
I don't mean just between the X205 and the Vantage, but if there are any other headsets out there that are compatible with the PS2 and PS3, I'd like to know.
And please, don't just say "Gt teh Logtech," give a reason. All the threads about headsets on this site seem to be incomplete, or filled with posts like said before;
I'm hoping to get a more defiinitive answer, to help me decide which mic to get, than anything I've seen thus far.
Also, a while ago, I bought a $30 Cyber Acoustics headset to talk to long distance relatives on Skype for free. It works with my pc, and when it's plugged in, a blue light on this "thing" that's near the bottom of the cord turns on. It's USB, and also has another "thing" that has an on and mute switch, as well as a volume "turn-dial." If I press L2 (Commando setup) when in the Team View screen (the one you have to be in to press ready, a.k.a. GTFU) the L2 in the bottom left of the screen turns gold, but it doesn't work anywhere else. I've never gotten a reply when I speak in Team View, and in-game, it doesn't even recognize that there's a headset plugged in. Is this because it's not PS2 compatible, or because there's a problem with the headset? For the record, I'm using CA, with a broadband connection, if that changes anything.
Thanks.
