But you are forgeting the fact that I could not log on scea as well. I tried accessing my account through scea on a seperate LAN.

This could be a lot of problems. You could have been lagging or running slow, your PS2 might have a lot of dust on the lens or you disk could be scratched up, your modem or router might have been not working right. The server could have also been messed up.
