You would just plug the ethernet cable into the jack in the wall, and set up your network configuration.

People who play wirelessly, use a wireless router that is connected to a modem. They also have a gaming adapter, which grabs the wireless signal and sends it to the PS2. There are many different devices that can be used to grab the wireless signal.

However, if you live in an area where there is alot of metal, or have alot of metal in your house, wireless might not be the way to go. The metal can interfere with the wireless connection, which will make you lose range and quality of the connection.

YA what he said ^^^

For example....I had wireless but me modem was on the other side of the house so it went through a tv, microwave, bathroom, stove, and other junk so my connection was horrible.

Sorry for this being my first post but i usually just browse this board....I run a wireless router and did not have to spend the money on the gaming adapter.

I bought the LINKSYS Wireless-G router with the 2.4GHz USB network adapter and instead of hooking the modem/router up to my computer....i just ran it backwards.....hooked the modem/router up directly to my PS2 and then connected the USB network adapter to my computer. So my modem/router are behind my bigscreen and all i have connected to my computer is the little wireless box with the antennae connected via one USB cord. In short the router itself was $89.99 + $0 (Gaming Adapter)=HAPPY. I also have experienced no noticeable increase in lag as opposed to other setups.

While that is in deed a good idea, I cannot do that.

The computer in the living room, is brand new. So it could use the USB connection. However, the PS2 is in my room, and I do not have a co-ax cable running into my room. And, the computer in my room is about 9 years old, and will not support a wireless USB connection.

I will agree and say this is a good idea, but depending on the situation, depends on what you use.

For example, the gaming adapter helps make the wireless connection stronger. While the USB does not, so depending on how far apart your computer and router are, will tell you weather you can use a wireless USB adapter.

Myself, I also live in a mobile home, (YES, I don't want to hear any cracks about it either), and the connection is good most of the way, but it starts to suck when I get about 50 feet away. Not to mention, the computer is in the front room and my bedroom is in the back.

There are many factors that go into detemining what set-up you should go with.

yeah i see your point, that does change things a little bit, but if it were me...i know because this was the case for me.......i'd rearrange a little to save me $100+tax.....i'd just move the comp from the living room to your bedroom, and move the PS2 to the living room where the coax is, but that's just me.

I have wireless internet. I have a receiver on the side of my house that gets a signal from a tower. The cord comes straight from the receiver into a little black box. The ethernet cord comes from it to a modem or whatever you have. It's the only thing I can get. I'm having mic problems with it. I've tried connecting it straight to the ps2 and through a router. My mic won't work at all. I've tried the suggestions on this site, but nothing is working. Anyone have any suggestions. I would appreciate it. Thanks
