First of all, I DO NOT have a ROUTER!
For some reason, my headset has stopped working in Single Player mode, the headset is working perfectly when I plug it into my laptop.
What is the problem? Again, the headset is in perfect working order... this is a game problem.
Ok - Totally weird this, I deleted my game save - Problem fixed. What the fudge is going on?

Lucky... I have that same problem, but my problem isn't fixed... my little brother even deleted my saved games (accident, hes 6) but still, I have the same problem. It wont work on Single player or online. The mic is in perfect working order, and I have 2 brand new ones. I think its just some scratch on the game... i'm going to try and rent S3 tonight to try and see if my game is defected or something... I haven't been able to use my mic since I started Socom... I hope it works.

The USB port on your PS2 might be messed up. Try plugging it into another USB port on the system. If that doesn't work, then it might be the game. Try another disc, and if that doesn't work, take your PS2 apart and clean it out. You can google search instructions on how to clean your system.

Thanks for the help (if it was ment for me) I made a thread about a week ago and no one would help. I was thinking it was the game also, the mic works on other games, so thats got to be it. Its also not my usb port because I use a keyboard in it. Well thanks again. I'm going to rent S3 tomorrow and see how it works. I have my fingers crossed.

If that is the case, that it works with other games, that it must be the disc.

It's not neccisarily the disk. I think Socom 3 in general has problems with the mics not working. The day I bought the game, brand new, it didn't work. Mine tends to not work somethings, the first few games I play. Then after a while, it just kicks in and starts working great. Cleaning your ps2 is always a good thing to do, though you don't neccisarily need to waste money, going out to rent/buy a new copy of Socom 3. That's the very last resort in my opinion.

Well renting a game is only 2 dollars, and if it works i'll just switch my copy with thier copy. I haven't been able to rent it yet because they didnt have it in, but I did rent Socom2 to check it out. My mic worked perfect. It was great using it again. So i'm 99.9% sure its my disk. WHY DID SOMEONE HAVE TO RENT SOCOM3 THAT DAY??? lol

He did say Single player, not online. The game did have mic problems online, but not with the disk inless it was scratched. I can bet its the disc.
If the person that was having problems is will looking at this, did it work?
