Socom 3 Weight System
If you didn't already know, the weight system is really screwed up. Also, the manual from piggyback has all the 'stats' on the guns incorrect as well. In example, the description for the M4A1 is that it is a Lighter and More Comapct version of the M16A2, and yet, according to the stats online ITS HEAVIER! This is persistant in a lot of the descriptions, like how the 'M8 is extremely accurate' and other stupid stuff like this. It gives rise to the question...did anyone writing the manual actually play the game???? As we all know the classic 'after i planted my m2s i still weight the same?' moments are just common sense that zipper forgot about. Hopefully all this will be fixed in SCA. Anyone else notice any screwy weights?

Yeah mate I completely understand what you mean.

I also have the official guide from piggyback and if you look at the part where it tells you about the weapon loadouts it says that you can put a high scope on an m4a1 and a laser on the f90.

Is the manual for the beta version of Socom 3? Cause my friend has a guide/manual (idk who makes it), but it is fo rthe beta. In his guide, it says you can silence an M16. So check your guides and see if it is for the beta version.

oo..i do have the beta. it would be pretty sick if you could high scope a m4 tho, along with the silenced m16. Damn...wasted my cash money.

That really pisses me off. Take some mines, but when they are planted you dont loose any weight. Also in real life, the M4 is real prone to locking up and overheating but that dosnt happen either. A few things to add to 5 mile list of things zipper should fix.

you can press triangle to drop stuff in single player.

the m2 thing kind of sucks, but if you pick up some nades, you will gain speed. i think they did that because that is the consequence of you picking the item. if you want to be fast, dont take m2s or a rocket

good thread, i know the creaters on socom3 messed up on the M8, because i know thats a great gun in real life, but the weight comparison of the M4a1 and the m16 isnt that much, you run a litle bit slower, but my point is that you shouldnt be to worried about it....every game has it's flaws and every player has to deal with it...but good debate...if zipper actually payed attention to the PLAYERS opinion's on how to improve the game, socom would be that much better.....and my thoughts about the descriptions on guns, it's all BS..when i was a noob i thought all the descriptions were true..so i was walking around with an M8 aand i sniped with the L96 (description of L96aw "regarded as best snniper rifle in the world" =( but these descriptions are for show i guess...and they fooled me into using them....hopefully in socom combined assault they make the game more realistic

What I find funny is that a semi-automatic shotgun(M4-90 and TA) weigh more than a fully automatic machine gun(M60E3). As for the sniper rifle weight, it is sort of realistic. What would be sad is if there was a pistol haevier than a rifle.
