Talking
I've personally broken 8 mics over the months, and have payed a sh!t-load total combined, and to just think of a Durable Mic would be fantastic. If you produced one yourself, I would be your first customer to try it out I can promise you that. But, I don't think I could, nor would want to purchase a Metal Durable Mic, would be rather irritating in so many ways, but maybe rubber made? Could bend, be fit into small areas if you have all your other shelves/storage compartments packed-tight full with objects/items. Damn, to just imagin a Durable Mic busting out onto the Stock Shelves would be freakin' tight! You seriously need to talk to some people about this idea, it would help Online Players with a sensation of relief.

My mic is starting to give out after about 6 months for this particular one... I have to tilt the mute button around until I can hear. It's weird.

First off, I don't know how you guys tear up so many mics. I'm still rocking the original mic I got with Socom 1. It still works just fine for me and I play a lot and travel with it too. Also a durable mic would be good for obvious reasons, BUT a metal mic would just be trouble around the house with an angery kid who sux at Socom. You would need durable everything in the house, cuz a flying metal head set would tear $h!t up lol. But it would be funny to watch lol

Mine was doing the same thing, but everyone do yourself a favor and buy your mics off e-bay, i got an upgraded mic that is usually priced at $35.00, i bought it on ebay for $11.50 with no shipping coming from canada, got to me in about 4 business days and its great, havent had a probelm with it yet.

Maybe you should just quit buying microphones, because obviously you aren't responsible enough to handle taking care of them.

Ways to avoid breaking them**
-sit on them- Hmm, maybe you shouldnt set it on your seat if you know you're going to play the game later.

-scream too loud in them- Are you 5 years old or something?

-cord gets tangled- Store in a drawer away from other
controllers/wires/cords.

-spill soda on it- I don't even know how anyone would manage to spill a drink on their microphone....especially while they're wearing it.

-through it across your rooom because of anger- Are you 5 years old or something?

-cat/dog may bite on them- Again, set the microphone in a separate space out of reach of animals, soda, and other wires/cords/controllers.

I've taken really good care of mine. The last one I bought has lasted me about 2 years now.

The original mic you got with Socom 1 is very different from the Logitech one. I used to have the Socom 1 headset, the actual plastic broke, so I had to wear a hat when I played to keep the ear piece to my ear and mouth piece where it should be. It worked fine for a few years, no hearing or talking troubles.

The Logitech headsets, on the other hand, are garbage. They will break no matter what. The wire/s in them will break, and you will most likely be able to talk but not hear.

Having a nice durable one where you didn't have to keep spending money on them is nice, but you're forgetting about one thing. A company makes a lot more money with products like this. The product breaks, you go out and buy another one, giving them more money. Just imagine the money they get. They switch to something that is very reliable and durable, and people buy it once and that's it. The company takes in a lot less money than before, and business-wise, that's very bad for them.
