Headset on PC?

When i plug the Socom headset into my PC, it works as headphones, but i dont want that, i want my normal speakers for sound and the headset for the mic, so i can use it for other games and whatever.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was also trying to do this a couple of weeks ago as my webcam's mic aint working. I have a Logitech USB headset and I can figure out how to do it. I know for a fact that with a regular headset (non-USB) you go into control panel and go to the speech or something like that, from there you can make it so the sound goes through the headset AND the normal speakers but I cannot seem to do it with a USB one.

If you havent already then try to do it on the control panel and let me know if you get it working because I need this help also.
