Frustrated of late?

I am just curious.....has anyone else the last month or so been totally disgusted with their performance on this game?

First off, let me say that I am a die-hard SOCOM fan. But it seems something is different as of late. I would rate myself as a slightly better than average player. In SOCOM 2 I finished at about 12,000 kills and 9,500 deaths. When I got SOCOM 3 I got up to about 1,500 kills and 1,100 deaths before I had to create a new name after the x-mas patch came out. Since then I am a poultry 1,050 kills and 1,025 deaths. I'm barely above even. I din't think my play has changed overnight but something seems odd. My hit percentage is also down (would seem to be the obvious reason my play is down) but I could swear my aim is as good as it was in the months and years past. Hence my extreme frustration. It actually got the point where I didn't play this game for 2 weeks until 2 nights ago figuring I would give things a break. Seems to be the same old frustrating stuff though the two days since I came back.

I guess what I want to know is that has anybody else been experiencing something similiar? I feel I went from a slightly above average player to a below average player overnight. Thoughts, suggestions.........HELP!

You mentioned how your aim felt the same, but the accuracy on your stats was down. I think you're forgetting that they dramatically changed the way accuracy works in this game.They tried to make the physics of your gun's accuracy more realistic.

Here ...try this, it will prove my point.

Play singleplayer. Choose the M4A1 basic, no attachments. Stand in front of a wall, run toward it and start firing (notice the terrible accuracy). Next, try standing still and firing at the wall. Pay attention to where the bullets hit. Now crouch, and then prone. It slowly gets better. Now put a FrontGrip and a Red Dot on your m4A1 and conduct the same test. Even when running toward the wall, you'll notice how insanely accurate it has become.

I'm sure you're already aware of this....I'm just saying. That's probably why your hit detection went down *shrugs*. =)

You had 1500 kills before xmas? Holy ****. Then you remade a name and now have another 1k kills?

You play too much and your performance suffers. Play a lot less and hop on every once and a while or something...take 2 days break. Idk why but you get better?

Well i find if your doing bad running and gunning try sniping, or if your doing bad sniping try running and gunning. I dont know how much you snipe, or if at all but its a good way to keep your kills above deaths. I dont mean stay in the same place all day. But if the room is full and your a decent sniper its not hard to get a few kills. You also might be trying to hard, i try and get 1 kill a round, not a real hard goal just something to try and focus on. I also find using a rifle laser with assault rifles really helps my aim.

It could be one of two things,

First is when you started there were a lot more NOOBS then there are now. most people had time to get better at this game and you taking time off didnt help b/c like anything practice makes perfect.

Second it could be your internet connection which is what i think it might be. i used DSL for a while until i got a cable connection and the difference was tremendous. before i got the new connection i couldnt get my kills over deaths to save my life but now its a whole different story. i still get robbed on certain kills that i think i should have gotten but its not as bad as it used to be when i had DSL.

I hardly ever get frusterated. If I do I will just like punch a couchon.

Here is my advice: Play Socom II for a while... it's better

What has got me frustrated as of late is spawn campers in respawn (Especially Fault and Antenora) and when I get disconnected in ranked games when I'm doing really good. Also when I miss a snipe and the guy hits me and drops me when I clearly see blood fly from my opponent.

Actually, myself, I have been doing better in the last month than I did before. I couldn't seem to have a good game for months, I just recently was able to get my Kills to deaths good again. I think I have 300 more kills, compared to the 500 more deaths before.
