It would be nice to have them, but only have flashlights availiable for nighttime maps only.

I think it would be a cool thing to have in this game, and it will have its disadvantages.

I think a flashlight (torch in England) would be a great addition to the game as far as asthetics are concerned (Yaya big word lol) but would be pretty useless.

I think the best thing to use them for would sort of be a signal thing within a clan. Set up a code thing usuing flashes to send messages Or not.

I think headlights would be cool though, I can just imagine it on Harvester night, you are running in the dark (Duh) and you see headlights around the corner and jump behind a rock like James Bond. Once again, or not!

If they have more urban maps in Socom 4 where you need to actually clear rooms and have more CQB then a flashlight might be good. I'd like a map where you have to go into a building and clear it room by room. What would really be good is that instead of a flashlight have a strobe light that can disorient the enemy for a few seconds but it would have to have a limited use otherwise it would ruin the game. Maybe if it could only be used 2-3 times before the battery ran out. Strobe lights are currently used by Military/Law Enforcement so it's not a stretch. I agree that the vehicles should have headlights or some way of seeing in the dark even if you could use NVG's in first person while driving=> if they did have headlights it would be really great if they could be shot out.

I would find it usefull to have a flahlight handy in your inventory. As well as having flashlights on the top of your gun in night levels so you never have to switch your gun and your flahlight around, you can always have both on at the same time.

I tihnk that Flashlights would have been a great add. I heard of them coming in before the game came out, but yet again, another socom miss.

Flashlights primary use in CQC situations is to confuse and disorient the enemy while also providing light for the assualt team.

In America's Army, they have a guage which is your "combat effectiveness". This gauge will raise or lower itself depending on the stance youre in or what weapon youre using, or whether or not youre bleeding or recieving fire or being shot at. It basically controls how accurately you can fire your weapon.

For example, when you are being shot at, your combat effectiveness goes down and it is difficult to return accurate fire because your crosshairs move so much, hence making the use of suppressive fire actually useful in game. Also if you have been shot once or twice and are hurt, it will go down as well, also having the same effect which should stop people from just running and gunning. If you pick up an unfamiliar weapon, it also goes down.

I wish something like this could be incorparated into Socom 4. It would make gameplay not only much more interesting, challenging and fun, but also much more realistic at the same time.

It would be interesting if they could program it so that when the flashlight was turned on and shined in the enemies direction, it would either temporarily blind them, or reduce their combat effectiveness and make it difficult for them to return accurate fire.
