It's nice to have, if you're using it for Socom. If you play other games besides Socom, just a heads up, some games don't support a keyboard. Also, if you're planning on buying the map pack that's coming out shortly, and you're using a USB flash drive, you would either have to sacrifice the mic or keyboard (if you had one).

I keep both connected at the same time and use them both frequently.
If it is a matter of one or the other then you need to get a mic first. There are numerous situations that come up all the time where i use the keyboard. For half the cost of a game or less, definately worth it.
Definately tak the new map deal into consderation like the other post mentioned.
btw - has anyone used a usb hub with their ps2???? Any problems???

keyboard works wonders n socom. easier when u gotta message ppl n when ur chattin. plus u can chat n the game if the mics are f*ked. yes u can have both ur keyboard n mic.

yes because, if you know how, you can type to your team where the last enemy is camping.
just type /w player's name message so for me it would look like:
/w aainfantry your the best
then that would appear in red at the top of my screen. but you can't have any spaces in the player's name.
