S-Video Cable
just an fyi........if your tv has an s-video input, by all means use it!! i just bought the monster cable harness for the ps2, and the picture quality and clarity is unreal. it's ALMOST as signifigant of a difference as looking at "regular tv" and HDTV. it was about $40, so it's not the cheapest thing in the world, but to me was well worth the $$$. i use it on my small 15" lcd, and the improvement is awsome. definitley helps when sniping :)

Yeah, dude. It makes a huge difference. I have the Monster Cable set. When I went to visit my mother last Nov for 3 weeks I didn't take my monster cables, i just took the regular ones that come with the PS2. I hooked it up to her 32" LCD and the picture sucked.
My regular tube 27" with S-video looked way better than the 32" LCD with standard cables.
I will never use standard rca cables again. Be sure to use S-video with your DVD player too.

You can actually go better than S-video if your equipment allows.
Next level hits the Hi Def area.
You use the multi color RCA's i.e. the blue, green, and one more. If you look on the back of new HD tv's you will see the connection ports.
The highest level is the HDMI cable, it looks like a computer monitor cable, this is the best technology available.
HOWEVER, the ps2 cannot utilize these. That's where the ps3 comes in - it will be able to blend into the High Definition area. So, when you get a ps3, look for HDMI capability.

The difference between A/V cables and S-video is huge. The difference between S-video and Component Cables , while an improvment, is not that great. Im waiting for the PS3 so I can use my HDMI port. I think its going to be sweet.
Oh yeah. Monster cables are great but there is so little difference between Monster and my Mad Catz cables.....cept for about $30

Yeah, good call Yooper, I was going to say, my MadCatz cable cost only $10, and I notice a huge difference. Although, I usually only use it when I'm recording Socom, but when I do, it's just an amazing jump in quality. You can pick one up at any Wal-Mart for $10.

Don't fret. Mad Catz is well known for low durable products. Monster is the better buy if you plan on using them often.

Does this change occur even if you have a regular tv if you get a monster cable? i get great satisfaction from buying 4ft monster output cables to connect to my regualr stereo system from tv output then in the tv input i connect my ps2. and i connect my ipod to tv to so it goes through tv to stereo and i can adjust three diff volumes to make it really loud and it plays through regular tv speakers and stereo speakers, i just stole the input cables that connect to a headphone jack from my parents video camera, alot of people have these and didnt know you can connect them to ipod or tv. sorry i went off topic but maybe it will enhance someones gaming expirience, or just take up space in your brain. questions just pm me
EDIT nvm i just reread 2nd post

I have the Monster Cable PS2 set with the S-Video connection to a regular tube 27" tv, the L & R audio are the gold rca's.
Once you play with em you will won't settle for less.
Probably a 20-30% improvement in video quality if not more.
Like I said earlier: The picture is better on a normal 27" with these cables v. the stock cables with a 32" LCD. I have played both setups.
