Scoring Type

Hi, I need something cleared up. What is the difference between Ranked, Open and Respawn Scoring Types?

When setting up rooms, which one should be picked for scoring?

Thanks

Respawn- does not count towards your rank, you respawn ever time you die. Its the same as in socom 2.

Open/Unscored games- they are like ranked games, once you die you have to wait until the next round to play again. This game does not affect your rank.

Ranked-these games count against your rank/stats.

Play ranked games if you want it to be scored/keep track of your stats and rank.

Cool. Thanks. That makes sense.

The confusion was, one of my teammates says that when he sets up a ranked room/game (he's ranked Lt. Cmdr), no one else in the clan can join the room (the rest of us are enlisted ranks). Is this normal? or is he doing something wrong when he sets up the room?

When setting up ranked games, does it matter what your rank is and who is able to enter the game?

That is normal. Since he is a lt. commander and he makes the room, only other lt. commander's can join the room. Same thing if an enlisted ranks made the room. Only other enlisted ranks would be able to join. The only way around this is to join the game through the friends list/clan list. So make sure you have all your clan members on your friends list just in case joining through the clan menu doesnt work. Then you will be able to get in the room. This is normal, and it is quite annoying, but hopefully Zipper will fix this in the future.

Thanks XCylonX, very informative. One more question, will you still be able to access the room with a password this way? I know if you try to join a room with a password through the clan list, it gives you an error message. You have to access through the briefing room.

Im not sure on this one. Like you said, you do have to access a password protected room through the briefing room, not through the clan/friands list. Im not sure if it would give you the "you do not meet rank requirements" message. I remember joining a few rooms with passwords and I did not get this message, so you should be fine in joining the room with a password.
