Australia/New Zealand Release Date

for all those interested, yesterday i went to my local eb games, who will be receiving the game as soon as it is shipped over there. asked about the release date, hearing most people on s2 saying mid-february. march 15. bit over 2 months. thats a long wait. and it sucks. at least we will probably hav a patch as soon as its released, and we hav all those american/canadian players to thank for it. what i wanna know is, why are they shipping it so late? i mean, north america got their copies in like november? whats with the 4 month wait to cross the pacific?

Most likely a supply/demand issue. With the Christmas season they would expect to sell alot of copies of the game and would want to reserve production capacity for the North American market (who would likely purchase more games than a smaller market like Australia). Plus they would l possibly be shipping out already "patched" copies of the game to your part of the world which is a bonus. One other thought, is that I believe you folks are on the PAL system and not NTSC like we are, therefore different coding?

not to rain on your parade or anything but socom 3 is not all that people who havnt played it yet say it is. People who jsut get the game say its awsome but those thoughts disappear very quickly. There has been 2 patches so far and personally I'm still not sure wtf they fixed. theres a long list of things that it was spose to fix but all of them failed. all the problems the game started with is still there. hopefully by the time you guys get the game it will be all fixed altho highly doughtfull.

deathangel, all i hav to say is... shhhhhhhh. be quiet and let us make our own minds up... in march. daz-shafer, ur correct, we are on pal systems, not ntsc. so really, the whole demand issue isnt really there. i highly, highly doubt theres a strond demand for pal s3's. maybe they r just too busy making ntsc copies rather than pal copies? although i hav no idea where the games are made, im assuming its the US. and i do believe will will hav several patches available as soon as we log on, if not already on the discs. thanks north america for giving us glitch and error free copies of s3 :D

Thats not totally true, when i first got the game i was nervous b/c the graphics were choppy and the gameplay was a bit different then socom 2. it just takes some time to get the hang of it and its well worth purchasing just dont expect socom 2 at all otherwise you will be dissapointed.
