Edit: The Release Dates for the two also differ,(one says 10/4(!) the other says 10/11) but the covers seem to be the same (even the litle pink thing in the lower corner.....now I’m just just plain confused.)

Piggyback is the PUBLISHER/DEVELOPER of the "OFFICIAL Socom 3 Strategy Guide".

Prima is their Distributer.


just make sure it says "OFFICIAL" on the cover and you should be golden.

as some people stated, alot of games come out with the Strategy guides up to a week in advance. SOme stores carry it, some stores hold of until the game comes out.

I'm not 100% how ebgames and gamestop work it, but keep in mind that ship out dates and the shipping time..

For example, gamestop and ebgames have the GAME ship date as 10/11 with the notion that people who pay for OVERNIGHT shipping will get it on 10/12 (the day the game is to be released and sold in stores).

If they only offer 7-day ground shipping for the guide (no overnight or 2-3 day service), if the ship date is 10/3 or 10/4, that will put it around the date of the release of the game and the release stated on Piggyback's website of 10/11 10/12


I personally called some gamestop stores and they showed in their computers that they had already ORDERED the guides as of 9/30, but they dont expect them in the stores until later in the week, if not the following tuesday/Wednesday (which is when shipments normally come in)
