Don't play the european game if you've already played to the US game... You'll be surprised so see that the european game is ****.

yes indeed, I'm french, and the PAL version of socom (we dont use NTSC) has big huge, tremendous problems.

The game lags, you see enemis looking elsewhere, but they are shooting at you. players are sometimes "unkillable" and headshots are mostly useless. As a mostly sniper based player, you can understand my deception of having to follow multiple accelerations and freezes of a foe. This never stops, players move like a Ford Pinto fuled with diesel

The players ban weapons without thought, althought the full socom 2 game can reveal excellent (I personnaly love sniping grenade lanchers, and see them do team kills like cocacola sells in your country).

The players ban maps as well. The only ones played are frost fire, desert, cross roads and at last fish hook (eventually). All the many interesting and highly tactical "night" maps such as shadow falls, abandoned, rats nest are not played. No VIP maps are played either.

The high interest of young and zitty players for the ranking system rots all game efforts and empties game rooms like neurones leaving Bush's and Chirac's head

an anouncement for a new server is official since June. We still dont have this server and anyway, it is only suposed to solve the "deconnexion" problems a lot of users have (by my experience, this happens when you ask the game to have a different language than english, having lived in california, I really did'nt mind, hetted the french "speaker" changed back to english and by accident found this out).

the main problem with the new server is that it will nerver be able to change the root coding game probelm of the game that apparently has been neglected when the NTSC to PAL conversion was done by zipper.

proof of this has come to my mind when I tested LAN games on socom 2 and had he same exact laggy awfull game experience that the european server offers.

Since July, I dont play this game anymore, or hardly, just to see friends. The game has lasted me since the 10th of march (release date in france) till about mid-may. may to july I played every other weekend or less. today, the disc is collecting dust.

I am constantly playing socom 1 at this moment, or beta testing new releases to come....

Neverthless, socom 2 is a good game, I just dont encourrage anyone to put too much effort or money to play.

Wow, what servers have you been playing on. You have made the lag seem alot more than reality. If you want to play in a room wiv nade launchers and such, then just go into rooms that are not marked as not allowed.
As for banning maps thats just bull*%$£ ... when someone makes rooms its personal perference, you wanna play those maps you make the rooms

North America serva - 20000 peopel playing = LAG

European serva - +/- 1000 peopel playing = less LAG, LESS PEOPEL

I play on the PAL-Server and they lag as hell compared with the US-
Server.

I played on the US-Server with more than 50000 People on it with
no Lag.On the PAL-Server it lags with little more than 2000 People on
it.You can be proud to have these Server in North America ,believe me.
If you get the chance to play someday on the PAL Server than try it and
you will hate it.

^^Sorry for my bad english
