Socom Goes Under the Knife
Well, there has been a heated thread at the PS forums about the knife attack and Confrontation. I know a lot of us here have always put it in one of the wish lists, but to our surprise, it was never implemented.
I was wondering what everyone thought of Confrontation having a knife attack. Keep in mind, it would not be a slashing type attck, like COD 4, but the single player attack Socom games have had. Some people do not want it at the PS forums, but they cannot back up their idea with any reasons.
I am all for it, as I, like many others, have wanted it since Socom 1.

It definitely needs to be included, and it should be the true Socom knife from behind, and not the garbage COD4 hack & slash of instant death.
It's advantageous from a stealth and ammo conservation perspective, though I wonder how it would work in Socom's TPS view?
It'd definitely raise the suspense factor when you see some dude pop up behind you, and you know that knifes coming next.
Rifle butting should also be included.

I agree with you, Ome6a. Snipers would probably fall prey to this more than others, especially when looking through their scope (obviously).
The knife attack would (although I'm just speculating) only work when the enemy player is staionary or moving slowly. The rifle butt has always been an item Socom fans have wanted, but it would be difficult to peform, in my opinion. I don't think it should kill the enemy, though. Then again, with the difficulty of managing to get that close without the enemy shooting you, it should probably be just like it is in single player.

Im not a fan of knife attack. I dont have a specific reason its just I never liked using it. Like on cod right now If your shooting at someone with a automatic weapon and they are close they do the knife attack and it kills you instantly it makes me so mad.

Read my first post. It would be like the single player attack, which Socom has had since day one.

Knifing would be a nice addition, but nothing will ever beat dropping a grenade or setting up a claymore behind a sniper.
