There wouldn't be time to rifle butt. If you're behind an enemy, use the knife. If you're in a gunfight, it would be better to reload or switch to your pistol.

I know stunning someone while getting hit in the head is more realistic but umm where is the sence in that? Would I rather shoot them in the head once and get a kill or knock them out and pray they don't get up and shoot me? It sounds cool but I dont know if its video game worthy. I think one attachment on a weapon should be that thing... I cant think of the word uhh the knife on the end of a gun. I cant remember what its called but have that as an attachment.

Would you be referring to a bayonet?

Soldiers train on how to use them but they dont really use them in combat.

Bayonets are a thing of the past, especially with U.S. forces.

The rifle butt would be best used when you are out of ammo, but I still don't see it being used much. The knife attack, however, would be used (and capable of being used) much more.

Yeah you can see them a lot in the older war style movies. It would be cool though, even if it wouldn't be used much it would still be a cool option to have.

Throwing knives...haven't really thought about that. It would be pretty sweet though. It would have to be in a certain range. Not saying that sniping someone with some throwing knives wouldn't be sweet.
