The framerate might be bad in socom II, but only when there's a lot of action; ie claymores, RPG's, 203's, airstrikes, or a shitload of grenades.
However, in socom 3, just running can do it (tidal fury on the way to the SEALs spawn). I don't know if it's because SOCOM 3 streams the maps off the disc, or whether its because S3 is full of bugs. I really think SCEA rushed zipper too much on that title, if they had another month a lot more bugs would have been worked out, but then again they did have time after the beta to change a few things, so maybe they were ready and just didn't catch some of the bugs.

Hopefully, with the power of the PS3, lag will not be an issue. Warhawk has 100 times the amount of motion and fire going on and runs smoother than a infant's butt (I swear I'm not a pedophile!).

I'm pretty confident lag will not be as big of an issue as it was in the previous Socoms.

Also, Vigilance never had much lag. That was by far my favorite S2 map.

I don't think it's so much the power of the ps3 as it is the internet connection, but I could easily be wrong. Maybe the packets being sent are smaller, ie the information is simplified, and the PS3 just does more on the individual user's end. I don't know. Either way, resistance and warhawk have set the bar pretty high for other online games.

well ive never played s3 single player (lol) but if there are framerate issues in single player then its not the connection, merely the game itself
