If the field of view for the radar is small, why have it at all? If an enemy appears on your radar only when you can physically see them, it won't really matter, as you would be probably shooting at them.
However, if you are able to see enemies on your radar when they are behind objects, this is a big NO. The element of surprise and stealth is gone completely.
