No, it shouldn't... But the 5.56 is so..... "flighty" that a person can take 4-6 shots, and still walk/limp around for about an hour before collapsing from the blood loss (if you don't hit any arteries, and they don't bleed out).
Source: Aprill 11th, 2008, a buddy of mine got injured when an EFP hit him in the *** cheek. During the CAS-EVAC, we took fire from all around us on Al-Quds road, in Sadr City. My Team Leader at the time was on top of his vehicle providing security, and shot a Jaysh Al Mahdi member 5 times (I saw it with my own two eyes), double tapping twice, and one single shot. The guy hit the ground on the 5th shot, then got up on his knees, and then walked into an alleyway. We hooked up the vehicle to tow it out, and then in one of the windows of a building, that same mother.... popped his AK out of a window, and sprayed my truck. That's when he died... I know this because I shot his *** personally w/ my 240 Chuck.
I'm not trying to be an a-hole, so don't freak out. I was just pointing something out to ya.

You have to constantly shoot someone with the 5.56 in order to drop them its getting ridiculas. They use that 7.62 and its a beast but the rifle is so crappy we have the advantage. hopfully they will be getting rid of that soon and replacing it with the mk17. 240b? thats a heavy MF to be carrying around but it gets the job done mk48 is nice though its has limited abilities. Soggy whats your unit.

Hey, hang on a second there, bud.
I know a lot of people knock the A-K 47. But don't be lied to. That's an effective, and accurate weapon... Untill you get to ranges of about 300-600 metres. But then again, in most of the firefights that I've been in? It's been against dudes on rooftops, dudes in alleyways, and dudes that's in the windows of buildings you don't fight in open fields as you used to, and if you do, it's usually an ambush, and you sit tight, and return fire untill Air Support comes in and lets loose a ****in' hellfire at 'em.
The distance between us and them is usually about 50-250 meters. At that distance, it doesn't really matter how accurate the weapons is at higher ranges, because if any of those mother****ers took aim, breathed right, kept a good sight picture, and had a stable firing position, they'd be just as accurate as an M-16...-ish.
The whole "INACCURACY" bit kicks in at longer ranges.
My unit?
Team Alpha
3rd Squad
1st Platoon
Echo Company
1st Batallion
68th ARMORED Regiment
3rd Brigade Combat Team
4th Infantry Division
Or you could just say 4th I.D.

All true, very true, but I think that even just using their fire selector more often and delivering single shots would increase their lethality a thousand times over. Thank **** for Rambo movies, eh?

If you're lying, I'm dying.
There's been so many times I've been on mission, and bullets would spray past me, or hit the ground next to us.
The only thing I could've thought at the time was: "OH ****, THAT ALMOST HIT ME!"
Now that I think about it, most of the AK's they have over here aren't sighted. They aren't Zeroed, and if I'm not mistaken, unless you're a sharpshooter (who knows how to zero a weapon to his own style), you'd need a firing range to get it done, or a boresight....
So even if they did look down the sights of the weapon, they would be hard pressed to hit a target past 75M, wouldn't they?
Anyway, yeah, I'm gonna stop hijacking this thread.
MY BAD!

.50 rifle round = man-cannon of doom.
If weapons stats were realistic, then developers would also have to take into account how the bullet reacts when it hits something. Does it splinter on impact, or blow right through the person? What effect does body armor have on the bullet? What effect does concrete, brick, or metal have on the bullet?
There would be natural things to consider if developers wanted to make a shooter that has real physics as well. They would have to put in the effects of wind. Temperature gradients and moisture differences. They would also have to consider the Earth's magnetic properties at each location they create. Let's not forget about pressure differences.
Also, the character models would have to be taken into account. How much fat does the person have? How big are their organs and how are they configured? How big are their bones? Is this person's blood thick or thin? What about their eyesight? You would also have to put in psychological factors.
