The more that I think about it, the more I don't like the idea of not having a fog kind of thing. I really do think that Snipers will have the upper hand and it will impact the gameplay, even if there is more added cover.

Yeah, but with Seymour saying this specifically.....
IGN: Given the increased draw distance, does this turn the balance a bit in favor of snipers?
David Seymour: Combined with the accessible rooftops and realistic ranges weapons, snipers will love the opportunity they have to do more, but they will not dominate the play.
At least you have the assurance that they're at least paying careful attention to it.

Along with that statement, they also said that they spent a good deal of time reading forums to see what the common complaints and wish lists were. I would expect that the issue of snipers would have been something they would have come across, since that was probably the biggest downside of S3 & S:CA.

I have a quick question, not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere, since it wasn't in this particular interview. Are ghille suits making a return in Socom: Confrontation? I sure hope not....
Also, something I forgot to put in my previous post:

Without vehicles and with a S2-influenced approach to map design, our largest map is smaller than S3's smallest map
|
I'm absolutely loving that statement right there. It really seems that they have followed the fans of the game and have taken into consideration our concerns.

Desert glory isn't the map. They said they're all based in north africa, and that 3 are old maps.
So crossroads is one, that leaves Fish Hook, Sandstorm, and Liberation.
My bets are on Fishhook and Liberation, FH was a fan favorite and liberation had a pretty cool urban combat layout. I just wish we could have 32 players on liberation, or at least 24...

They had a vote on the socom web site. I don't know witch one had the most but check it out it's still there I think.
I'm really trying to figure out the hole grenade/sixaxis controller thing out. I wonder if you actually have to act as if your throwing something or if you just jult (jult a word?) your controller.

I would say you would just move the controller to throw it. I never have really used six axis. Maybe the word you're looking for is jolt.

The only game I really used sixaxis in was War hawk and the sky diving game other than that no games really used it. I can see how leaning would work but as far as throwing grenades I don't see how it would be done.

Indeed. Such good tactics on our part.
Me - "Alright guys. Plan B."
Razor - "They're in the east gate."
Ghost - "Switch to plan Q!"
Me - "Nightmare, Cylon. Go huntin' guys."
That usually lead to us going 6-0.
I can't wait for the release of Confrontation. We'll have to get some 1337 tactics going again when it comes out.

A little insight to [S3]'s tactics:
Otter: "GOD DAMMIT, CAN YOU NOT THROW A GRENADE? **** I'M RUSHING LEFT TWO PEOPLE GO WITH ME"
Bob: "Throwing a grenade is really not that hard jesus christ....
Me: "I'm just gonna go kill people"
And I swear by GoPre that **** worked everytime.
