I hear what you're saying, but it's a catch 22. The best thing they can do is take what made Socom 2 so good, and add a little to it to make it great. Ok, I'll give you the open-mic thing, but being able to roll side to side when prone? Seriously, what's so bad about that? Why does that bother you guys? You can lean, so what's so bad about a roll? It's not like when you're rolling a bunch of ninja swords fly out of your body killing anything in a 20 yd range. I mean, really, come on. It's like btching for the sake of btching.
I think it's on one of my pcs at work. I'll check tomorrow.

That's all im saying. Socom 2 needed very little to be great. Some new stuff isn't always bad. Im just saying a lot of that stuff doesn't seem to be needed. I have my own opinion i don't care if anybody else agrees. I don't ever plan on playing with sublime anyway. I hope it's awesome too don't get me wrong.

The lean was for looking around corners quickly. Prone roll is just a roll to make you look like an idiot. Will I use prone roll? Probably. Will I get used to it? Yea. But what was the purpose of adding it?
Prone roll I can get used to open mic with range... I will see how that goes.. They had that in either metal of honor or call of duty 2, I can't remember but all I know is I didn't like that at all.
Edit: Why would you not play with me razor? I was just saying why ask for socom 2 or 3 again if you have all this power on a next gen system. Didn't mean to offend.

Are you serious...this game needs sprint to function. have you actually seen how much bigger the new crossroads is? The mercs spawn by the lion. The seals spawn right across the map in the opposite corner. With all the alleyways and roofs etc.. it would take an hour to get to the action. Same thing for urban wasteland. And theres nothing unrealistic about sprinting either. When you are under heavy fire you sprint your *** off from point A to B

I think the whole point of what Slant Six has been trying to do is take SOCOM back to what it started out to be, then add a few more things to make it a fresh and new experience. Chances are, it won't be like the old SOCOMs, but nothing really has captured the feel of SOCOM II. At least for me it hasn't. So, from what I've seen from videos and interviews, the game will esentially be SOCOM, but it will try to enhance on that.

Yeah, no telling whether or not it will have the same old Socom Feel to it. However, I don't see the need to complain about things they are adding and or improving, if all you want is a graphically updated Socom 2, then I guess your SOL,. Because 1, theres never ever going to be another Socom 2, no matter how hard they try. And 2, I've never seen so much whining regarding a game developer "improving" it's game. I mean if they were just sitting around not improving anything except the graphics, then I'd think you'd have a real reason to get PO. Just because they are adding things that weren't a part of the Socom experiece in previous years, doesn't mean that it is going to be a negative thing. It's that the whole point, I think it is, try and have the same "old feel" to it, while at the same time implementing new ideas into the game to try and improve it, and make it that much better. Making the same old Socoms, just with better graphics just isn't going to cut it anymore.
Lets just let Slant Six do there thing, and see how the finished product is. I think they know what the Socomers want and don't want, so as of right now, I'm going to trust that they, at least try and meet as many of those wants as possible.

im with razor. i bought SOCOM because it was SOCOM, not because it was a rip-off of some other game. the whole rolling and sprinting thing is taking away what SOCOM is and was. it still does look like a great game, but its taking away SOCOMs value (if that makes sense).
to NAVYBOY, the won't really be a need for sprinting with how many people you can get in one room...plus, thats probably the "big" crossroads, there just might be a "small" crossroads like what they did in S3.
When Confrontation comes out, play it until you get used to it. then go back to SOCOM 2 and tell me which is better (although i pretty much know what most of you stubborn guys will say.)

To be perfectly honest, how can you possibly start comparing the two? You have, oh about another 4 months before you can intelligently compare anything. THE FREAKIN GAME ISN"T EVEN OUT YET. And we are here already saying it's going to be this, and it's going to be that.
You can have your opinions on what you think they should and should not add to the game, however I don't see how you people can already start comparing. Lets play the game first, then we'll see.

Im so sick of socomers on the ps forums. I feel like spanking each one of them with a wooden spoon or something. Slant six adds in a tiny feature and they go all ****ing crazy like the human race is going to be wiped out or something. "OMG ARMOR, THIS GAME IS GONNA CRASH AND BURN LIKE S3, ITS GONNA BE NOTHING LIKE S2" because it might take another bullet to kill someone. It doesn't even matter cuz half the time in S2 your lagging and it takes a few more shots anyway. And why does everyone ***** about sprinting, it just means you can get to the "clash" zones faster. If someone runs around sprinting 24/7 they will die because it will probably take a second or two for the crosshairs to show up and your soldier to take aim. Seriously so many socomers sound like tight *** twats right now its pissing me off. What if these features make confrontation greater than s2. I think i know why they are scared of change - because last time zipper tried to change s2 and s1, their product, s3, was drastically different - vehicles, large open maps etc etc you know the rest. But seriously, S6's changes are so minor in comparison to the changes made in s3 - open mic, sprint feature, armor etc. can you all just relax and wait for the final product.
And btw you can't call this graw just because its got an OTS OPTION, the "classic" view is also available. And who cares about prone rolling etc...stop ****ing about the small things that won't affect gameplay

Now that comment I agree on. I took a week off from school and played non stop. Did nothing but ate Wendy's taco bell and McDonald's. There was always a friend online no matter what time of day. No room ever got boring and rooms always stayed full.
