To me, those graphics do not look all that good, especially for a next generation game that has had more than enough time to develop. I could live with mediocre graphics if the game plays smoothly and addresses all or most of the problems with the past games in the series (Namely, S3 and CA).

I know what you mean, dude. The first time I saw that, I was thinking about how they ripped that off of Lethal Weapon. I didn't notice if your player can fire while doing that. Let's hope not!

I see in one of the new pictures ( May 8 ) it shows the difference between light, medium, and heavy armor. Was the ability to equip armor to your character ever discussed by Slant Six? I don't know if I like that idea too much since it reminds me of the juggernaut perk in COD4, which I, along with many others, never cared for. I always thought that everyone having the same amount of health/armor was the best way to go.

Yeah, the night and day comparison shots are fantastic. I've noticed in the screenshots that their focus seems to have been on perfecting the look of the environments. I expect the character models will be improved before the game's release.
The armor idea is great, because you know it's going to be a trade-off with mobility. Light armor will be a fast runner, heavy armor will be a slow mover, but at least your junk will be protected.

Hopefully it wouldn't be causing a huge problem with balance issues if the weapons aren't balanced properly.

I totally agree. But however, the game play videos look nice. I seem to notice that will all games. The stills don't look very impressive. However, video is smooth as butta.

The armor system works quite well in Rainbow Six Vegas. It's much better implemented than juggernaut or stopping power in COD4. The weapons are balanced and have realistic atributes unlike COD4 where the devs know absolutely nothing about terminal ballistics, just looking up the Wikipedia article would have yielded better results. The best example I can think of is the .32ACP Scorpion (pocket pistol round) being nearly as powerful as an M82 rifle in .50BMG(heavy machine gun). If the weapons are balanced, the gameplay iss a lot more fun. The unbalancing of weapons and perks is the major fault COD4.

Yeah, they discussed the armor thing in one of the interviews I read. It'll be a trade-off with mobility; heavy armor = slow as dirt. They say it won't be a ridiculous difference, and that a headshot is a kill regardless of armor.
It'll be nice to see if headwear offers any real protection, or if it's only for looks.
