from what i heard this game is going to be multiplayer only with no single player. I was wondering if that was correct and if it is i was wondering what us newb people, Like me, who have super slow i net and yet are basically obsessed with the game series will do?

what do you mean how can i be obsessed with it i mean it does get boring evey now and then but still though it is fun to play it because i get to try diff weapon setups for each mission and try to beat my highest score for that mission

socoms singleplayer is about as fun as slittin your wrist or watching blues clues, its horrible dude.
what the heck is everyone and hating single player wow i mean come on i know it has its ups and downs but it is still fun to some people like me , who have the ever so slow and not so popular dial up internet. so i guess that makes me a wrist slitter that watches blues clues then right even though im not

Socom single player sucks always had always will I'm glad this one is online only
man those are some harsh words from someone who probably hasnt even beat the SOCOM 1's single player yet (and i am not saying you havent and maybe you have but i wouldnt know) but anyway i say it again even though the single player has its downsides it still fun to play it through again every once in a while

Dogg, when you can get DSL for around 15 bucks a month now-a-days, it's pretty amazing that you still have Dial-up! Socom is Multiplayer. The single player is only for boredom fun. Get broadband and play online and I guarantee you won't go back. It is more addictive than heroin and crack combined!!!
If you want to play a single player SOCOM game, Zipper (SOCOM 3/CA guys) are also making their own SOCOM which will have both single and multiplayer modes.
You will have to wait quite a while before the other game comes out, but it may be worth it.
