Thats kind of suprising, every game should at least have a story to it, especially a war game.
But then again it doesn't matter, as long as the game is fun and enjoyable its all good.

Hmm I actually enjoyed playing the single player with my friends on combined assault. The enemies would drop you in like a shot so it did take stratedgy. I also like getting unlockables, only if they don't take a year and half for a patch to come out so you can use them.
From what I know confrontation is not socom 4, it's a multiplayer only game. S4 is still being produced by zipper.

Not to be a **** or anything, however you know you are allowed to use commas, periods and other forms of punctuation in your posts.

To tell you the truth I'm glad that this is going to be an online game only. It was about time they focused on the most enjoyable part of the SOCOM series. Yeah they had cool story lines in the past games but then the online wasn't as great, atleast not in the last two games. It's better to focus on one thing solely than two. You can devote all your energy on it and not have to worry about getting the other thing right or wrong.
SNIPER, I don't have DSL either because apperently they don't have broadband in my area but I'd rather them just focus on online so when I eventually get DSL or Cable I can enjoy my SOCOM experience like I did back in the days of SOCOM II.

Yeah I agree, focusing on multiplayer is a defanite plus. Lets get real here, no one, unless you don't have high speed internet, buys Socom for the single player alone. They put a lot of emphasis on the single player in Socom 3, could that be why the online experience sucked?? Whether it is or not, focusing and putting all their attention on the Online aspect of the game is hopefully going to pay off big time.

I love how he leaves before he gets defense.
And I have to admit, I really do enjoy the single player in socom. The first was the best, but all of them were pretty fun. Well, ok, if you didn't play CA on co-op it sucked ***, but on co-op it was pretty decent.

I liked the first say 5 levels of SOCOM 3's single player, but it got boring as I grew more and more impatient. I think I did eventually go on to beat the game a few months after getting it, but I wasn't impressed.
I would liked for this game to have a single player mode but I would rather the developer focus on the online part the most. If I have to sacrifice single player for a great online that takes a while to get bored of, then so be it.

I honestally did not know the provider's still supplied Dial-Up, in most cases it is more expensive though as you pay by second not a set rate each month. Socom Multiplayer has a history like this
SOCOM 1: Ok Singleplayer,BREAKTHROUGH MULTIPLAYER
SOCOM II: Worse Singleplayer, EVEN BETTER MULTIPLAyEr
SOCOM 3: Best singleplayer. Not even going to comment on multi here
I dunno bout combined assult
