Dazamn dog! You have the biggest signature I have ever seen! Resize, maybe!?!
@ the forums bickerers - Enough with the nonsense pleez. Let's keep this topic open and legit so if Slant-6 ever decides to read these too, we don't look like a bunch of whining children. "Waaaah, he won't except my invite, waaah!"
But anyways, where the hell is the news S6??? I thought ya'll cared!?!?!?
I know they probably can't say much right now b/c of Sony keeping a lid on things, but just a friendly response would be great. Even a "hello" would be a nice touch so we know ya'll haven't forgotten about us.
And pleez don't say you are tooo busy b/c it only takes 2 min of your day.
I think there should be some sort of live chat set up, so we your loyal customers would have an oppurtunity to talk some Socom and possibly ask a few questions in order to keep our excitement up. No news = boredom of the project. Nobody wants that. And we would like more than the same P.R. crap dribbling through the game mags and what-not. Plus, possibly more than 2 new screens with nothing going on in them.
Give us something here, Slant-6. . . .throw us a bone!!!

Then don't direct your posts to them if they'll ovbiously not read them. And it also helps to not come in and tell senior members what to do

I'm venting about Slant 6 and their lack of "caring" even though they say they do. Plus, I posted this at both aka Copy and Paste!
And to the other part of your post - Who the hell did I tell to do something? You're trippin' here, chief! I'm guessing you are young or something. Sorry to hear that. . . .

Hey, that's not cool. Especially when you're talking about Ox.

Venting about SS does not do any good, especially here. No one wants to hear it.
Sony hired a community manager for us! Here are her posts:

I am sorry I didn't get back to this thread to answer questions sooner but I have been pretty busy this afternoon. I'll do my best to give you some answers now.
I am unable to get you any new information today, including release dates. I can only release information that has been approved by everyone involved in development, production, marketing and PR. As soon as I have the go ahead to tell you anything, I will be here making a post. I have been reading about your concerns and questions for the past few weeks and have already been talking with people here about how much I can share with you. I know some of you are going to be skeptical and unhappy with that answer but I can only assure you that I am here as your advocate and I will do my best to get answers to your questions.
As for my background, I have to admit I am new to the SOCOM franchise. But I am a gamer and play games with my husband and kids almost constantly. I do know what it means to be passionate about your game.
I was hired because I come from a strong background in Community Relations. I have worked with communities for 20 years, the last 8 in the online game industry. My strengths are in getting to know people, listening to them and getting their feedback to the right people. I know how to be an advocate for large groups. I also take the role of providing you with accurate and timely information very seriously. I will always answer all that I can and I will always be here pressing for more information to give you.
I do realize that there is a lot of frustration in this community. SCEA realizes it, too. That's why they hired me to help.
I know I have a lot to learn about SOCOM and I am depending on you all to help me with that. I hope that you will trust that I know a thing or two about community relations and give me a chance to help. I will always be honest with you and I will always tell you all that I am allowed.
To those of you that have welcomed me, thank you. To those of you that have your doubts, give me some time. Let me have the chance to show you that I am your advocate and I am on your side. I love that this is such a passionate and outspoken community. I am really happy to be working with you.
Oh, and the Abigale name is my standard game name in most games I play. That's why I used it here for my handle.

They get to print exclusive content that no one else will have until then.
I'm so glad you got to see new screenshots and that the EGM cover is now confirmed. I couldn't let you know until after they were released. They went up a little earlier than we thought they would so daviddoel found them and posted for you guys while I was busy doing my Saturday chores. Thanks David! You are really on the ball!
Now you will most likely not see anything else official until the EGM cover. They have exclusive rights to that info now and are preparing to share it with you in "next-ish" month's issue.
And just so you know, I have been compiling your comments about the screenshhots to send the feedback to the rest of the team.

I have been reading these boards for a few weeks and I know that many of you have been waiting and hoping for new information by the end of this month. Sadly, my first duty is to disappoint you and tell you there is nothing new to be announced today. I realize that is a big let down for those of you who were expecting something.
But I am working with SCEA and will be communicating with both development teams to bring you up to the minute official information as soon as it is released. No, I can't give you anything like a release date or new screenshots today. But as soon as I am given the green light, I will be here letting you know.
As your Community Manager, it will be my job to be reading these boards and responding to your questions and concerns to the best of my ability. I will also be passing on what I read to the right people. The devs cannot possibly be reading and responding to these forums on a regular basis and still get the work done on the game. So they have me now. I will be here every day to see what's going on and to tell you all I can.
I know you are all anxious for new info. I am afraid it will still be a little while before you hear more. I will be working with PR and Marketing to be able to get you info as soon as possible. But in this stage, a lot has to be kept quiet. It's the way these things work.
I know some of you have also expressed concern that perhaps SOCOM Confrontation has been cancelled. I am here to tell you that is not the case. In fact, they hired me specifically to work with you guys to support and build this already strong and passionate community.
So hang in there a while longer. Announcing public information is tricky. There is a lot to work out concerning when, where and what information is published. And we will not announce anything unless and until it is 100% confirmed. So I will not be giving you target release dates or anything else that is a guess. You will get only official information here, straight from the source.
I am sorry there was nothing new to give you today and I know that brings some disappointment. But take hope in the fact that they have now hired you your own Community Manager. So things are moving in the right direction!
I look forward to getting to know you all. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer what I can. Just remember, the information I can give you at this moment is very limited. But that will change soon.

Those posts are "introductions" by her.
Here are a couple posts from threads that she has made, asking for feedback on certain issues.

In my many years of playing Massively Multi-player Online Games, I have made many friends that I first met in game. In my career, I have talked with hundreds of other gamers who have also experienced online friendships that were very important to them. I am sure it’s the same with SOCOM.
So tell me a little bit about your SOCOM friendships. I’d like to hear what kinds of experiences you have had making friends within these games.

I am new to the SOCOM franchise so I am still learning to play the games right now. As for other games, I could tell you a hundred stories from EverQuest. I use to organize the Fan Faires. These were conventions that took place all over the country so people could come together to meet their fellow gamers. I have met so many people in person, I have lost count. Some of them became very close friends and I still talk with them now, 8 years later. So even though I may not know your game well yet, I do know the importance of a strong community. I believe with all my heart that friendships made through these types of games are real and true friendships. That's one of the main reasons I took this job. When I started reading these boards, I understood the passion you have for these games and I want to do all I can to help you build and maintain a strong community.
