Not that your opponents are going to stand there and admire your moustache when you are trying to blow the crap out of them

I like customization for my own reasons, rather than other people seeing my character.

Y'know, this sort of reminds me of Starcraft: Ghost. There was a huge hype over it and it looked great. They had some awesome videos too. But then, there was a delay about two or three months before the confirmed release date. Then, news stopped. It just seemed to vanish into thin air. Not many people knew what the hell had happened, even those who had reserved the game weren't told by the store that it was no longer going to be made. Now, am I saying that this will happen with Confrontation? No, all I'm doing is pointing out some similarities.

I haven't heard anything about the game in a bit of time now. I heard someone say that it was pushed back but can't seem to find anything about the game relativley new. Anyone know if the game is still coming out? pushed back? I have a xbox 360 for all my next gen needs and socom would be the only reason to upgrade the playstation.

Well, the thing is, Socom never had a confirmed release date, it was jsut assumed it would come out this year. So, scratch that similarity.
Also, the dev's (Slant Six) are keeping in close touch with the community while the Starcraft Ghost guys (Blizzard?) said almost nothing (as far as I know). Scratch that similarity.
So this Socom and Ghost have nothing in common except for them being Third Person Shooters.

Exactly what I was about to say. Slant Six has been connected with the community far more than several other big developers. I guess I could say to expect an update sometime today... we'll see.

People seem to be interested in the Slant Six team so I encourage all of you to check out our website Slant Six Games. We have a culture section where you can check out pictures of the team members as well as employee highlights where you can learn more about some of the individuals that are working hard on the game everyday.
It was asked if we play SOCOM 1 and 2 at Slant and the short answer is an enthusiastic “yes”. We also play SOCOM 3, SOCOMCA the Fireteam Bravo series on the PSP, not to mention SOCOM Tactical Strike. Each edition in the franchise expands on the SOCOM experience. New features and functionality are added to keep the series fresh and entertaining and because the player base is so diverse everyone tends to like and dislike different aspects of these changes and updates. Beyond that we also read the forums faithfully so that we know which of these features the community believed were the most successful; after all (along with us) we are the fans.
So for next week please keep the questions coming and as long as they focus on the footage and media that has already been released I will be able to provide insight.
Have a great weekend,
SealTeam-6 out

Ya know, these guys give me nothing but hope for their take on Socom.
I think part of the problem with Zipper is that they got tired of Socom and wanted to put it behind them. However, with it being such a cash cow, they kept churning them out.
Slant Six not only bring a fresh set of ideas to the table, they're also fans like us, so they're obviously very excited by the opportunity.
It'd be like if Zipper said, "ok, we want a group of people from VGF to oversee the next Socom". The final product would be so awesome.
I have faith in them.
