Actually my first concern besides the ones that everyone else has is, since we start with little options on maps (not sure on anything else) which each update do we have to pay to get new stuff besides what we get from the game?, If the first question is no as in the are updates that are free then okay.

But the second since there is going to be some things that will be downloaded via playstaion store, will they be unbalanced (give players unfair advantage?)

I think those are my concerns at the moment for SOCOM: Confrontation

For Socom 4 I do hope they take away the rewards for doing especific things like in SCA which I just didn't find fun.. And use like in SOCOM 1, 2&3..

Socom C won't have "rewards" because it is an online only game. Unless you can achieve awards like in Battlefield 2, but since you referred back to previous Socoms...

All that footage looks extremely like a Alpha/Beta version

1) No gun recoil
2) How the characters move
3) Guns not having any effect

But, I'm kinda getting the idea how when you zoom in they make you look over the shoulder and such.

My biggest concern is they need to fix #'s 1 and 2...perfect that ****...then go onto guns and such mmmmmkz.

Clips
Saw some quick clips on a E3 trailer I downloaded on the PS store...The radar in the upper right had red dots to mark terrorists maybe? This will eliminate camping.....Maybe this was a screenshot from some co-op part of confrontation.....Also I heard online only and only like 5 maps...no way this could cost 60 bucks.....thoughts.............

I hope they don't make a radar that allows you to see the other team. Some people might call me stupid but, I like sneaking up on my enemies. You might call me stupid on this statement too, but the radar will also eliminate realism on the game. I really like using realism, and that is the soul purpose I got into SOCOM series. If the other player can see where you are everyone will just run and gun. I know the game is meant to be fun, but sometimes I like to play as team. No offense to the run and gunners out there.
The radar is my biggest concern. They said the radar will mark enemies that your character can see in his sight of view. They also said that they will try different possibilities.

Chad, they mentioned that the game will come with five maps. The rest will be available through the game market where you can download guns, maps, and other modifications. Does anyone know if this will be free? I bet they will make you pay each time. If they do this will ruin the series. It probably wouldn't be much, but you still would have to pay.

You're a little late on this subject.

The game IS online only and ONLY has five maps. I'm sure map packs will come out as time goes on, however.

I think that confrontation has the potential to revive this site. Ever since our switch to v-g-f i kind of think that the forum has been less active and it can go hours without a post.

Well, it looks like Socom Confrontation will not be released in November of 2007. IGN has updated the section and the release date is now TBA 2008. Whether this is accurate or not (Although IGN is one of the more reliable sources out there) remains to be seen since nothing official has come from Sony or Slant Six.

IGN: SOCOM: Confrontation
