New Stuff
The forums have been upgraded to the latest version of vBulletin. There are many new features available in your "User CP" and profile pages.
A short description of the new features : "Customizable profile options" : Which means you can fully customize your profile page with different colors and background images. Any deliberate tampering with this option may result in a Ban or Suspension. ( Example : making all your colors black so that nothing is visible to read. ) More info on this - Customizable profile options "Public User Messaging" : You can now post comments or messages on other members profiles. You'll also have the ability to delete messages others put on your profile. (if you wish to do so) Theres also a "report" link if you want to report something thats over the top on yours or someone else's profile. More info on this- Public User Messaging "User Photo Albums" : Pretty self explanatory. You can now upload photos and have your own photo album on your profile. Any inappropriate images (porn , grotesque , etc ) will result in a ban or suspension depending upon the seriousness of the image. You can also click on the "report picture" link next to the image if you see something that shouldnt be there. More info on this - User Photo Albums "Social Groups" : You can now create your own Social Groups. In which you can participate in discussion....or exchange publicly or privately messages and/or photos with other members in your group. Example : Clan groups , Game specific genre groups , community groups, or whatever.. More info on this - Social Groups "Thread tagging" : Thread tagging makes things alot easier for people to find specific topics. Basically, Thread tagging your own threads will help others find your topics more easily. To search for tagged threads, click on Search..or the drop down menu next to the Search link for Tag search options. The more popular the Tagged term is, the biggest the font size will appear for that term. More info on this - Thread Tagging These options are brand new...So we'll see how it goes over the next few weeks. If certain options are abused, they may be turned off...In the meantime, enjoy the new stuff ! ![]() ![]() |

The Laws of the SocomIII Sections
Originally posted by c0mmand3r on October 11th, 2005.
------------- With the release of Socom3 in full effect on our forums, a few rules must be acknowledged by the community. These rules are to help keep our forums clean as well as to keep them growing as they do now each and every day. If you are a veteran member of the site, please be sure to point newer members in the right direction. Abuse is never the correct choice. Please realize they may not be aware of the way we run things here. If you know the rules, then please make sure to spread the word. You can all help to keep our site strong. 1. First and foremost, all the standard rules still apply for the SocomIII Sections. When you registered to these forums you agreed and acknowledged these rules. If you have not found the time to look them over you can find them here. 2. These forums are not your personal chat rooms. If you wish to chat to one individual please use our Private Messenger service or an outside source such as AIM, MSN, or YIM. If you post to talk to one individual and continually do so you will be warned and/or your posts will be deleted. 3. Here at Socom3.com we are trying to build a strong and thriving community of Socom lovers. If you are not here to actively and positively respond to questions and comments then please do not post. We do not need any negative influences on these boards. A new Socom will mean a new start for the community. Do not try and ruin this game for the rest of us. 4. There are some topics of discussion you should try and avoid on these forums. Anything pertaining to I got the game, Weapon vs Weapon, Map vs Map, This Weapon is n00b, This Map is n00b, or any general derogatory or off topic discussions should be avoided in these sections. 5. Please use the search functions we offer on this site. This helps to cut back on site clutter and keep the forums relatively clean. Posting a topic which has already been posted will be locked or deleted accordingly. Please make sure to perform a thorough search, or atleast look through the section you are posting in, before creating a new topic. 6. There is a rule which seems to be ignored by many of our users. This is that each message you post MUST contain a minimum of atleast eight words. This is to ensure each post is helpful and relivant to the discussion at hand. Posts such as lol, cool, yes, no, thanks, i agree, and other short answers should be avoided at all costs. Please ellaborate in each discussion you participate in. Even if only for eight words more than your standard. 7. Even though this is a rule of the forum already, I feel this is necessary to touch on here. There is absolutely no advertising for websites in these sections. You can list a website as a source such as the socom blog, or an IGN link. However, simply posting a website and asking for members to visit is considered soliciting and will be deleted. You will be warned for such actions, and future violations could result in a ban from the site. 8. There is absolutely NO tolerance for the posting of information relating to or involving the use of cheating devices, glitches, or any other forms of cheating in video games, especially in that of Socom3: US Navy SEALs. We are VERY strict and well known for our anti-cheat policies on these forums. If you wish to learn about cheating or discuss such vile actions, I suggest you find another website to do so. 9. Your posts should always be on topic and helpful or relating to the initial question or those which occur later in that topic. Strictly negative or "flaming" posts are subject to editing or deletion at the moderator's discretion. If you do not wish to help or contribute to the topic at hand, then please don't post. 10. Please do not post useless information, or information which would be deemed a nuisance in nature. This is considered to be spamming which should be avoided at all costs. These irrelivant messages will be deleted and/or subject to review by an administrator if in excessive amounts. Please be aware that if you find yourself in violation of one of more of these rules you can still change your ways before a warning or aroused concern arises relating to you and your posts. All violations are subject to editing or deletion by any moderator of these forums. You must take note that we are in place to ensure this community flourishes and is kept safe from nuisances. If you find yourself upset with a moderator's actions, you should look at it from their point of view before lashing out against that moderator. We are here to make sure each person has an equally enjoyable experience on these forums. Please remember these rules and act according to them. These are easy rules to follow, and by doing so you will ind yourself to be enjoying the assets of our forum much more. Thank you, The Socom3.com Moderators & Administrators |
