^^ No, he never dies in the storyline of SOCOM. The game pretty much ends with HQ saying she'll buy you guys a round of beers for you efforts. A round of beers. What a *****.
Personally think spectre was the worst AI, but you noticed boomer way more because he always had to be with you.
I just started playing SOCOM again, and my entire team got stuck in the second mission.... on a mostly straight "wall".
Did anyone else notice that the voice acting in socom 1 was horrible? They got a kid to do the bomb planted/diffused for online, sounds like one of the dev's did kahuna, spectre always tried too hard to sound shady, jester came off as a redneck who was shy (like when you first started to use your mic, you were reluctant to talk loud), and the HQ lady sounded like a shy girl. Also, most of the enemy chatter like "Fire in the Hole!" sounded like they were just reading off of cue cards, with no emotion.
But I loved it none the less.
Anyway, coming back to socom 1 after pwning admiral on CA several times makes things a lot easier. I actually grab the silenced weapons instead of the M60 now, and I also lean around corners. Also, you use your teammates more than bullet sponges and for the attack to/ambush command.
