Mission 12 i found easy as long as i got a good start, sometimes i would get a bad start, and i would get killed easily, especially on admiral.

Desert glory is loooosley based on that, but that would probably be the most kickass map for socom besides crossroads

whatever your problem is, visit www.gamespot.com, find forum about SOCOM1, there's a bloke called Eshandera who'd worked this mission inside-out. he says, he did it in 1min 5 secs. apparently, he's some kind of expert

Shoot, i remember that. I was trying to do it fast as possible. I did it in 4 or 5 minutes though.

Either rush left or right. Jump around a lot. Do not even THINK of trying to kill every terrorist. just get the two guys and run.

load up with a M16-203, and carry rifle grenades. Rim s across the road, turn left, ran beside the first building with team Fire At Will. As I pass the first building, I keep on running for the building with the first target,

I do not go inside on the second floor but jump back down and drop into the sewer, and while on the run I head for the second bad guy. Run up the stairs in the building connected by a small ramp, between the building up , and waited a second to take out some bad guys coming from the second floor, kill them, run across the bridge, in the next room where I caught the bad guy running out of the room, killed him with a rifle grenade, then turned back towards door waiting for one last enemy to come through the door, gunned him down.
I received an A, and the chopper arrives to pick my crew up.
The first time was an accident.I fired the rifle grenade on the second floor of the first building that the first target was in, I got the target, but the the explosion blew me backwards, off the building and I landed in the sewer slightly injured, got up and kept running for the other target...and was stunned to see the Level end in just over a minute. I have tried doing the level in less than a minute but I haven't managed that yet.

The toughest levels I found in Socom One is the POW camp, and the Prison Break Level. I will explain that with the next entry, because I appreciate being told that I know what I am doing. .....reaons: I'm Sixty Years old, trying to get the hang on new technology.

I learned one trick for, say the Lieutenant Level, of the POW camp. When the mercenaries are taken out at the first group of by Bravo who get sent to the base of a large tree on the right side of the screen, Ambushing, then I make sure all the Perimeter Mercs are dead, and fire a couple of extra shots to get another Merc to run down the road, to where the perimeter mercs were, and he runs right into view and gets killed. Then the trick is to leave Bravo at the tree with Cover Area, run over to where the perimeter Mercs are dead, and then run up the path, run around the big tree on the right, in the third person, with Boomer following, and then run right down the path and wait with Bravo for two Mercs to show up where the Perimeter Mercs were, then gun them down. Now I get Bravo to follow, and where the perimeter Mercs are lying dead, I stay to the right, and sight over the first tree for the sentry on the ridge, and kill him. Sentry Area secure. Then I run further down the path, keeping Bravo where the dead Mercs are, and kill the Merc that spawns down the road, past Point D.
Then I go up the large rock, with Boomer following and kill the Merc in the first sniper tower. Then I run along that hill and slightly down the bank, turn around and run back past where Bravo in (you can leave them posted near the hill where the first sniper was), and then two Mercs will chase you until you run right past Bravo and get capped. You can draw out all the bad guys with this technique, run towards where the guys are in third person, don't get close enough to get shot, but get close enough that they will follow you.

alright, somebody has used my advice and even copied rhs's walkthrough, that's good, especially for the people who still struggle with that darn mission.
even though I tried to use this walkthrough on one occasion, I didn't finish the mission, cos I've run out of teammates far too quickly. I have my own way but it takes me at least 5 min to finish the mission.
but I'm sure, this walkthrough'll help many people with Deathblow on Lieutenant Jr and that's just a start of gettin those stars on the list of the missions.
and yeah, I go there very often, especially when that dude, Eshandera appeared there because -and no offence meant- there's very little on this forum concerning the game and its missions. there are DAYS when nobody posts anything in here and less so when there's something interesting about any walkthrough, personal experiences and so on.

^^ completly aggreed. Socom 1 is still loads of fun to play, and we only have one forum on it. Now we're going to move even farther away. There will be a day soon once this board is no more
