I'm fairly new to this site, and although I have been a member of various forums over the years, I am still trying to get used to some of the unique features here.
Now, I know you all see me as a noob, but I do have a bit of experience on forums. However, there is one feature I can't figure out.
Sometimes when I make a normal, everyday post, the original content will be erased upon posting and automatically replaced with a message claiming that I had a link to another site in my comment. Now, as I have said, I know my way around forums, and it's basic etiquette on many forums that you don't post random links to other sites...so I don't ever do this.
So my question to you is why this would be happening? Is there something I am doing wrong here to cause this to mistake my posts for noobish spam?
It should only give you that message if you have a link in your post. Once you reach 5 or 10 posts (can't remember how many) you can post links without getting that message.

It's good to see new members who actually use proper grammar and are polite. I hope you intend to stay Miko because even in these two posts, you seem like you would be a great asset to our forums.

In case you are still wondering why this is, Miko, it is to "counter" spammers who join the forums and start advertising for their websites by simply posting links. After five posts, you can include links in any of your posts without the message being altered.

If posts, after you have made your fifth, contain links advertising other sites you will be slapped with an auto-ban/suspension depending on how generous some moderators/admins are feeling on that particular day.

Ahh...I see. Well, I'll double check my stuff, although I know I never have links to other sites that I can see. Maybe they're hidden?
Posting an image link sometimes does it as well.
For instance, if your first post was in the graphics staff section to show off your work, that could do it. (if its linking to an image to an external site like imageshack or something)
If this is the case, let me know and i'll automatically increase your post count past that limit so you can post images there.
But once you have around 5 quality posts, you can link to anything. (I say "around" so to not reveal the exact number to spammers)
spammers? we need to advertise this board more so we get more people period. alot of these board threads always dead except for a couple people but i dunno maybe u guys just get rid of the spammers too quickly.

This board gets hundreds of members a day by itself and it has been alive for years.
Advertising is not a problem. Not to mention people spamming their forum wont bring their members to our site.
