Linking to Offsite Avatars?

How come we can not link to off site avatars anymore? Why do they have to be uploaded?

apparently this image is to large for the board and really want to use it as my avatar!

I tried playing with the optimization for you, but I can't get it below 100kb without drastic quality reduction.

Good question.

I currently have it set so that all avatars cannot exceed 25 KB in size. Unfortunately, that pertains to both locally hosted and remotely hosted avatars. There isnt a separate section that lets me change the size of remotely hosted avatars.

Your avatar is 200 KB in size.

The only thing I could do is disable all locally hosted avatars so that all are hosted remotely. And set the size limit to unlimited..so you guys can get as fancy as you want with the animated avatars. The width and height dimensions would still remain the same. ( 110 x 110 )

But then everyone thats locally hosted would have to find a remote host. (imageshak or whatever)
