Or we could just tell everyone to use eBay or do what I did: Create a Freewebs site and put the link in my sig.

Thinking about it though, Sig advertising wont really deter advertising spammers. Reason is, you have to post to let people see your Sig, so they will still spam, "Look at my Sig!" and stuff like that.
My Sig advert worked because I post here everyday, and not really any of my posts are really spam, just sometimes empty of all thought.
It would be nice for people to have a place to sell and buy stuff, but it will get nasty if people start conning and trying to get the admin involved. Forum non-liability disclaimers don't always work.

I think most of us around here are smart enough to not do business with someone who joined yesterday.
I think it is a good idea, however it would depend on how much "action" the forum got. It's unfair to say we don't need one because no one posts threads related to this, because if a thread does go up, it's locked or deleted.
I'm actually thinking of selling some game items and I would much rather do business here than eBay, especially because I would not have to pay and the items I have would not do well in an auction, as I'm guessing most other items that would be up for sale here.

I like the idea. I would also rather do business here than ebay. I think it would be kind of fun.

Not our type of thing.
1. The moderators see enough of this stuff everyday.
2. The typical user that see's advertising here will think they can do it anywhere.
3. No offense, but no one will buy your crap here anyway.

I don't know about anyone else but I keep my merchandise in perfect working order. It keeps me from spending money to buy more stuff.
Anyway, Veins is right. If people who want to advertise something see long time members advertising things it will just open the flood gates for more of it making it more work for the mods to clean up and senior members to keep a look out to tell mods that miss some things.
Just eBay it.

Make that two of us, then... and keeping things in perfect working condition didn't even help the fate of my Xbox 360... the f'er still broke down... but that is another story entirely.
