A Little Rant on the "Request"
it seems to me that someone who puts in a signature request only gets it done within a week if they are-

A) Well known in the VGF community like senior members
B) Have some kind of special friendship with the GS members
C) Have the name RadioactiveMan

I know this doesnt fit ALL cases, but it seems pretty much like if you want a signature you have to do some kind of hazing ritual for the GS members to pay a notice to your request.

I also know that the GS members aren't super human and cant do 12783 request a day, but as I was looking and there are a few old requests that never got picked or anything. I dont know if its because the poster didnt fulfill the requirements, or if they are jackasses who noone wants to help.

So my site suggestion is to have someone tell the requester "hey we wont be able to do this/or do it til because-".

Just a thought. Flame and bash me for being a complainer, but I feel if noone says it, it won't be said.

Thank you for reading this,

-Chimaira

I can't speak for the graphics staff. As long as you have 20 non spam posts, and fill out the request form the right way it shouldn't matter. Some requests are easier to do then others. Maybe some would rather get the easier requests out of the way. I would say, here lately anyway, people are taking tests in school finishing school. Which is very time consuming and much more important then doing requests. It might take longer if you want a certain graphics staff member to do it, rather then just anybody. It's a free service anyway, not a have too.

razor makes many valid points and they may all be legitimate reasons as to why requests aren't done. At the end of the day however, the GS is doing any and all of these requests for free and thus a little subjectivity in regards to what gets done is going to take place. Of course, if someone has a special relationship with a GS member they are going to get their request sooner than say, the member with 20 posts. I will say, in their defense, that the GS guys are respectable members of the community that pretty much take care of all altruistic deeds done here on the forums. Why don't you try pm'ing one of the guys on the staff in regards to this problem in the future? I can say from experience that the staff may or may not look kindly on being called out like this.

"Also, keep in mind, this is a free service we provide, and we are in no way obligated to make anything for you. If you're rude, disrespectful, impatient, or in any way a big pain in the ***, don't expect to get a free sig from us."

Way to make a private matter a public issue.

If you really think this is an is issue, download the trial of photoshop, and make your own. Thats what I did, and I never had to wait for a request again. Problem solved.

About yours, which is why I assume you posted this, you requested 3 renders on a signature size appropriate for this forum (which would cause clutter) and that the person taking the sig has seen the show.

"If you know the show, you should know the motif i am looking for."

"want it themed after the show, not the comic."

"whatever fits the Boondocks theme"

If you want more people to take it, ie me and scuba since we do requests for the most part, I suggest you make your request in such a way that it does not limit the gs because of who has seen a show/comic/videogame.

There is nothing wrong with the way requests are done, and that has everything to do with the fact that I match all three requirements.

I have a suggestion. Why not take out some of the current gfx staff who are never active and/or don't do anything related to their job? Put some people in like Workman, Or Nitsuj, or Radio. Just a suggestion.

I think if radio wanted to be on the graphics staff he would have been by now. I think if the graphics staff felt the need they would make changes. I wouldn't worry about it.

I know you may be upset with your sig not being taken, Chimaira, but you need to understand, we do all of this for free, on our own time. Between all of the GS, we've done hundreds, possibly over a thousand free requests.

Summer has just gotten here and it is a very busy time of year. I know you may want a sig, but we have lives.

Usually if a sig isn't taken, the guidelines aren't filled in, or the request is near impossible to make while still looking decent. If this is the case, a GS member will usually post or PM the requester.

Pat, you don't know what you're talking about and I advise you to stop. There are only a few requests open, most have been addressed. If we need more members, we'll hire more.

Ahh the standard pointing out that the GFX is comprised mainly of inactive people and the follow up comment of, "what the hell are you talking about!?"

The good ol' days are slowly returning .
