"Against the Tide" Rooftop Tip

Get an SR-25, it doesnt matter if its suppressed, and double ammo, and give bravo some M60's, and jester an SR. When you get on the roof, hide the hostages between the little plat form and the "box" thing on the right down at the end of the roof as soon as you go through the door, then tell them to "Get Down". Then drag brovo over to the huge hole in the glass dome on the roof and tell them "Fire At Will" and "Hold Position". Fire a shot down through the hole to get them looking that way. When the terrorists enter the building bravo can mow some of them down before they even reach the roof. Some will get to the roof so don't slack off. Then tell jester to "Overwatch" the side of the roof opposite to the door you used to get to the roof and where the snipers toward the end pop up. Then go prone on to the right of the little platform so that the hostages and jest are behind you. Go into scope facing the door and put your crosshairs about head level of a person. The terrorists should be on their way up so be warned. As soon as a terrorist comes through the door snipe him, try to move your crosshairs to where his head first popped out, then after a few pop there head out(the will go throught the door single file) you should be able to find a good spot to rest your crosshairs. Now whenever a terrorist comes through the door you can get an instant headshot everytime. Thats why you need an SR because the come in packs. When the snipers pop up jester should shoot a few of them, you will need to help him. Tell bravo to move closer to the door(Move to crosshairs) When its time to extract grab the hostages and get up on the platform. This is where it gets real messy real fast... Deploy the red smoke and tell jester to follow you. Then wait. Don't try to grab one of the dead terrorists weapons. just pull out your pistol and cap 'em. bravo should be taking down enough for you to kill the ones they miss. And there you go! The chopper will be there soon. Good luck and godspeed...

Here's my tip:(extremely simple)

Once on the roof, prone infront of the door looking at the top of the stairs with an m60. Period. As they walk up, headshot. Headshot. Headshot.
Meh, works for me
(i have never been fired upon by enemy snipers while doing this)

I don't head up to the rooftop, I sit on the second floor over on the right side. I sit in the room on the right hand side of the hallway and put the the hostages in the room that looks like a small kitchen. Then you just have fire team sit still and face toward the doorway, and you can sit behind a counter and never have to fire one shot or even move. Once the ten minutes are over, you grab the hostages and run to the roof with ABLE and then when you are just coming through the roof doorway, tel BRAVO to follow so they take out any people coming up the stairs behind you.

I give Jester and one guy from Bravo M87's, the other Bravo an IW, and myself a RA-14. I put the VIPs on that little raised area on the roof, then I wait with my team at the top of the stairs. The two snipers will kill just about everyone, but if someone slips past I greet them with my RA-14. And the reason I use the RA is because you can just get ammo from the dead guys on the stairs :D .

Wtf, you can use RA-14 and IW-80 on that mission? I recently played that mission (several times, mind you) and I don't think I saw those in the armory. (btw, still can't beat it on commander, but I've come very close)
If I'm wrong about the guns, allow me to apologize in advance. As of now I'm at work and can't just turn on the ps2 and check out the armory

^^^I used those guns on admiral mode, but I think you unlock them once you beat the game on commander.

yea this mission is one of the easiest if you just get m60's for ur team and M16 double ammo for yourself. Take everyone up to the roof and tell hostages to lay down in the southeast corner.

Thnx bro the idea works but a tip instead of putting bravo at the top by the door you should put them at each end of the top of the stairs as the terrors come up
bravo will take them out as soon as the come aroun the corner. then like you said give jestor a sr and put him to over watch infront of the hostages at the location you had told then you get a sr and snip which ever enemy sniper you see

I have Bravo "run to..zulu" with the first hostage then have Able do the same with the other one. While they're going up I calmly walk backwards up the middle of the staircase and plant mines. This wipes out the first wave of bad guys while I'm getting the team set up. I set the team up in a slightly fanned out position on the roof by the door (just up the short staircase). If I have everybody set right, I don't take sniper fire and we just lay waste to the clowns that parade through the door. I usually start the mission with a silenced SR and switch it out for the M60 inside the embassy.
