How do you feel about The Sims?
Ok people how do you feel about the Sims...I consider it to be a good, well based simulation game with much to offer. But some may think differently O_o Share your ideas HERE
It's okay. It can get boring after a while. However, it is fun to live as someone else for a few hours a day, until you get electricuted by changing a lightbulb.
I think it's boring as hell. I actually won the first Sims game in an Electronics Boutique treasure hunt, when it was still around, along with Zelda on the N64, F1 2000 on the Playstation and Tomb Raider on the Dreamcast. I traded the Sims and F1 2000 very quickly.
My girlfriend loves it though, but drives me crazy because every time she starts a game she puts the infinite money cheat on. I just wonder what the point is... but she enjoys it, so horses for courses.
I sometimes still find time for the Sims in my gaming life.
Usually, I spend an hour or 2 building a house, 15 minutes playing the actual "life" side to it, then get bored and stop playing. Once the building side of the game is done, I get bored very quickly.
I also find it hard to play the Sims without add-ons downloaded from various website. The orgasmatron (no re-named to the rejuvenator) is the only thing you need on the game. If you have downloaded it, you can quite easily just have that on your house lot and leave the rest out.
I've never played the Sims 2 for some reason. When I first saw the trailers I was amazed, but now I just don't care about it. I will probably be the same with Sims 3. I see it, looks great, but then I realise boredom will set in very quickly and it will be a waste of 40GBP.
The time scale on the Sims is also ridiculous. I know some people struggle to find time to go about their daily lives, but the Sims is a whole other avenue. It can take your character 1 gaming hour to walk from one side of the house to another, takes me less than 1 minute on a slow day. For that reason, there is little room for fun when playing the Sims without cheating. No money cheat = Sims going to work = them falling asleep on the floor every 2 minutes.
The Sims Bustin' out (PS2) is the best one I've played so far. I don't even think Sims 3 will beat that. I don't see a Sims game being released on consoles any time soon, especially the PS3. With 'Home' supposedly being released soon, that should cater to the Sims lovers who own a PS3.
The sims has to be one of the greatest games ever made. I have every expansion, and the sheer amount of things you can do (on a worthy pc) are incredible, almost too much to list. If you think its boring, then its probably just not a game for you. Its incredible the infinite amounts of things you can do with this game, but me, i just get two people, and just make them live in a house and work and throw parties on the weekends(i don't use the money cheat) and they drive a mustang to work everyday (until i downloaded a Lamborghini to replace it). They never get old since i have them drink some life juice-crap, and in the new expansion, hobbies, there is an aspiration dedicated to grilled cheese.

you either really love the sims.. or hate it..
I think I mostly enjoy the building aspect of the game.... of course sim creation.
I will play 1 or 2 hours of actual game play before getting bored with it.. ( unless a new expansion came out XD) I kinda like the fact that you can also go online and share your sims story with the community.. and also that you can trade and DL sims from other players . I really enjoy seeing how other people play and how they create their houses and such. but yea soo far I have all the expansions as well.. expect for free time and bath&kitchen.. which I am dying for.. can someone please tell me how great they are!? lol
i really liked the sims but it got old pretty quickly i understand why ppl would luv to play it a lot but i like quite a bit of action in my games: killing, driving, running through dungeons, and all that. but all in all i would more than likely buy or rent the sims

I usually only play The Sims if I'm really bored. When it first came out, I was younger so I obviously had fun playing but after I got older it lost it's appeal. It's fun for a while making your friends and family or whatever but it kind of gets really repetative really fast. Then there's the whole "story mode" aspect which is, well, for me it was bad. The whole original appeal that the game had for me was making your friends and controlling them. But now with the story mode, it loses that. So all in all, it's a good game that I'll play occasionally but it gets boring and repetative kind of quickly.
I hate the SIms. If i want to go to the bathroom, I go to the bathroom. If I want to sleep, I sleep. If I want to wet myself... well, you get the idea. The point is that The Sims is real life with crappy graphics, and gibberish. I also hate that one second is one minute. Who takes 5 minutes to walk from the living room to the dining room.

so wait..... you want it to be real time? no one would ever get through that game.
