Showin' Off Rules

Showin' Off Forum Rules:

The following rules must be followed at ALL times whilst in this forum. These rules are meant to keep this forum a better place, and maintain it strictly for "showing off" a graphic.

Forum Rules:

1.) Attacking other users will not be tolerated, which includes; "flaming", posting threads designed to antagonize or offend other users, and any other such actions subject to Administrator/Moderator/Graphics Staff discretion. This includes flaming other members for work they post that you may not like. Don’t abuse your fellow forum members for something you dislike about their art and keep it civil at all times.

2.) Vulgar and/or offensive material is not permited:
A. Swearing is not permitted.
This includes avoiding swear filters by way of ASCII and/or X-code.
B. Vulgar language or pictures are not permitted.
This includes any demeaning or offensive posts/pictures and/or refference to or pictures of sexual acts.

3.) Spamming will not be tolerated, which includes; double posting (posting two times in a row in the same topic. Use the EDIT button to add comments to your original post), excessive capital letter use, excessive punctuation use (i.e. !!!!!), posting multiple threads, registering multiple accounts, long strings of letters or numbers, posting threads in the incorrect forum, and/or any post deemed spam due to irrelevance or nuisance in nature. Posting multiple threads at once for different graphics is also considered spam, and it will be deleted. If you happen to make more than one graphic at a time, post it in the same thread. If a post consists of no useful information, YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED.

4.) Your post should be written in a legible manner. Unreadable posts due to lack of punctuation, use of “l33t sp33k”, spelling, or other things mentioned in other rules are considered spam.
Eight word rule: The rule is that no post can be shorter than eight words, but we've already established that there are certain exceptions. For example, if there's a post that can be sufficiently answered with fewer than eight words, why waste the time posting more? This doesn't go for posts like "wow" and "that's so cool!!!1!!".

5.) The forums are not a personal message board. If you wish to talk to a specific user, please send him a private message or e-mail him.

6.) Signatures: Signatures shall be no more than 8 lines of written text or the equivalent. No more than 2 pictures shall be put into your signature. Pictures in the signature shall not be wider than the standard forum column width. Signatures may not contain vulgar or disturbing images. Violation of this rule may result in the complete deletion of your signature without warning. For signature designers the sigs must be no more then 150 px X 500 px. Further information can be found here:
Dedicated Socom Forums - Video Game Forums

7.) Using this site for personal gain, such as posting threads which advertise a site, selling personal belongings and/ or other items.

Failure to adhere to the preceding forum rules may result up to and include:
1. Warning
2. Post deletion or edit without notice
3. Thread closure
4. Temporary or complete banishment from www.video-game-forums.com forums and/or relating properties, with or without prior warning, as seen fit by the Administrators, Moderators, and/or Graphics Staff.

All forum rules subject to change without notice at the discretion of www.video-game-forums.com, its Administrators, Global Moderators, and/or its Graphic Staff.

Please abide by these rules and have fun!

Taking Criticism and Flaming
Once again, you members need to follow these rules. Spamming and flamming is becoming increasingly annoying in the Showin' Off forum. People are constantly posting pointless statements towards the sig creators with things like:

This and constant arguing about someone claiming something on a sig and another being wrong is getting out of hand as well. I will be and already am deleting and/or locking posts/threads.

Please refrain from posting these ridiculous statements.

Thank you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Excessive Posting
Another issue I keep seeing is people (mostly somewhat new members) are posting in just about every thread possible. We (the Graphics Staff) know that posting in Showin' Off threads is an easy way to bring your post count up, and it's even more obvious when someone is doing that because their posts have barely any contribution or help. Posts like this example here are obvious spamming posts that will most likely be deleted:

When commenting in a thread, give strong and and insightful posts that contribute to the sig(s) and its creator(s).

Stop spamming, or your posts will be deleted, a warning will be issued, and a possible temporary ban from this forum area if the problem persists.

DO NOT POST IN EVERY THREAD YOU SEE!

Multiple Threads from Single Members
I am constantly seeing a single member posting multiple threads with only one sig in them just minutes apart. An example of threads such as this:

If you are going to make multiple sigs so close to each other, then please just edit your first thread with the new sigs. It keeps the 1st page less cluttered and helps with forum space.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Duplicate Threads
One more issue is people not being patient after pressing the "Submit" button. Please just click it once. I am seeing more and more duplicated threads (I even saw one member make two of the same. Then after I deleted one of them, he made a 2nd yet again.). If you accidentaly make a duplicate, then just tell a moderator so we can delete one of them.

Thank you,
www.video-game-forums.com Graphics Staff

One more thing:

People, please stop bumping up your threads. Just be patient or message someone to comment in it. It's a waste of time and space to bump a topic after making it no more than an hour ago.

Thanks.
