Still too bad that they haven't released an anticipated date for the release of this new patch... that's all I want to know at the moment.
I actually like that they haven't said a date. First because it gives you something to kinda be surprised at when it comes out. You go on SOCOM and BAM you see the new patch and you are like "YES, it came out."
Second, because that way people won't say that they lied to them if they didn't make the deadline. They have learned their lessons back at Slant Six Games.
Regardless, people will complain either way. If they set a date and don't make a deadline (which is what they are trying to avoid) they get fucked by the people. If they don't set a deadline people feel that Slant Six is never straight with them. haha I feel so bad for /6.
I know you are all anxious to hear of a release date for Patch 1.5 and for DLC. You all know by now that we can’t give you a date until we have one that is for sure. But I am going to give you a tentative time frame.
As I mentioned in my post last Friday, the patch is in QA now. Because of its size and all of the new features it includes, extensive testing is planned. So I can tell you that the patch most likely will not be ready before mid to late May.
DLC will not be released until some time after the patch. It will be up to our PR & Marketing teams to release details on what is included in it. But rest assured, the same team who has been working on the DLC all along is still busy getting it ready. I think you will be happy when you hear what is coming in it.
I know you are impatient and you want these things released right away. And I know you are anxious to hear more about them. I will make sure we let you know as much as we can as soon as we can. When we have news we can release, you'll see it here on SOCOM.com.
Hang in there. The team will get the patch and the DLC to you as soon as they are both ready.
I still have faith in this game. With each patch the game has gotten better(and worse in some areas) but at least slant6 is trying to fix things. I think this patch will fix the game even more. the only concern i have is what is it going to mess up. hopefully nothing. i am excited for all the clan features that are finally getting implemented. DLC will be great, as the 7 maps are getting old. Some new weapons would be welcome but we'll have to wait and see about that.
I haven't played socom the way I used to in so long, I wish they kept it more in line with the franchise instead of trying to change so much. I admit to criticizing zipper for their slow reaction to updates and cheaters but at least they made the game at a high level from the get-go. Wasn't it called socrack? (sigh) the good old days.

The Slant Six team while honest, just furthered their incompetency to accomplish things by announcing today this patch will not be coming out this month, in fact they don't even know when it will get done.
It's probably because they're trying to make it so that it doesn't fuck too much of the game up when it gets released. At least they admitted that they don't know when it will come out instead of keeping us in the dark and letting us assume.
