And for the cherry on top, the demo is supposed to be released later today.
are they ever gonna make it so you can play as one player (multiplayer) sort of like how nba live and fifa soccer have it? also i hope they fix the mic situation on the show for 09. i know the mics worked on 08 but less than 50% 0f the time. other than that i have no complaints about last years version and i cant wait for this years.
I played a game of the demo (4 innings compared to 3 last year) last night after work and the stadium lighting and dusk to night transition had me stunned.
This game may convince me to get the HDMI cable for my PS3.

I highly doubt it unless you can find 18 people that would be willing to sit around for 30 minutes to an hour. But if so I'd prefer to be playing with people that have actually played baseball and know how to cover the field.
EDIT
Love having Howard at first, being that he is a lefty. Just got a 3-6-1 DP and it looked so smooth.
My plan was to trade in '08 in the fall while it still had some value, to use towards the new Madden. Then I was going to trade in Madden a little before baseball season while it still had value, and then use that for MLB09. Kinda going to be a never ending cylce, and I've done everything except buy 09. Cant f'n wait, and when I get home I'm going to let the demo download while i play some socom :D
Here ya go Easton. Bases loaded suicide squeeze with Hamels at bat.
I didn't really want to take the chance of having him hit into a double play with the bases loaded and one out (No offense to your pitcher's hitting abilities).

I'm going to DL it tomorrow morning. Just from that short clip you can tell it's real smooth. As for Hamels, I've seen him have some great ABs, he's no Joe Blanton though.
I gave the demo a try last night - I must say, it's DAMN nice looking
I'm not sold yet though. For some reason, baseball sims always worry me. One year, one of the 2K games didn't even have the rules right. Let says runner at 3rd and 2 outs, ground ball to 1st. If the runner from 3rd crossed home before the out was made at first, the run COUNTED. That's a major mistake. Another year (I think 2K again) had half your home runs robbed by the computer jumping 10 ft into the air.
The Show doesn't seem to have those issues and I haven't seen any issues with the demo (save for a few typos) but I'm gonna wait and see.
I added it to my list of things to check out once it's released
The majority of the reviews I read about 2K are never really positive whereas The Show is quite the opposite.
And just to throw this out there, the build in the demo is at least from a month ago. There were some guys invited out to San Diego to play a more recent build and they've said there are definitely differences between that build and the demo. Off the top of my head I can't remember them.
So if you like the demo, just know the crew in San Diego is adding two more months of work.
that's good to know. I never got into The Show series (only played a little bit) but you're right, 2K series usually isn't as good.
It's funny though, because 2K does a real good job with their NBA game (way better than NBA Live). I wouldn't consider anything other than 2K for a basketball game, which probably has swayed me in the past to buy their baseball game.
One thing I wish they would add is being able to argue with your manager and having fights with your teams. I will be getting this game its really great.
I played the demo last night, and thought it was a decent improvement on last year's game... still not sure if I will be picking it up or not, simply because I have sooooo many other games I should be playing.

Baseball (the show), football (madden) and basketball (2k9) are must gets every year for me. i usually bring them back a month after the finals, superbowl or world series so that way i still get at least 25 bucks back.
