Figured I'd share that there are some stores breaking the street date. Mostly the little mom and pop stores. There was a place selling '08 early last year down the street from where I work so I'll probably check it out tomorrow since I'll be there anyway.
After I got home from class Saturday afternoon, I smashed a three run HR with Raul Ibanez and wound up winning 4-0. I need to learn more patience behind the plate, seeing as how I had Scott Kazmir on the ropes with the bases loaded, and I only managed to score one run out of that... Cole Hamels struck out to end the threat, on a low and outside slider.
Needless to say, I can't wait to pickup a copy of the game on Tuesday... unless of course, I find it being sold at a store earlier than 03/03.

Kinda doubt it. I've been keeping my eye on the OS forums and not too many places are selling early except Cali and NY/NJ.
And I thought I'd share this...

As an adult and a successful professional, I am embarassed by our behavior. The game comes out Tuesday and we will do anything, literally ANYTHING to get our hands on it just 2 days early?
We should all be ashamed
BTW, if anyone finds it within a 200 mile radius of Orlando, pm me immediately. I drive fast!
EDIT
Something else I'd like to share...
I got a call from GameStop a couple hours ago saying midnight release for this Monday night, along with 2K9 and Halo Wars. They also mentioned something about events at 10 PM, but I imagine it would be centered around Halo Wars.
I couldn't help but laugh when I left GameStop a few minutes ago. Not only do I not get Halo Wars, but I get a PS3 exclusive.
I could just feel people glaring at me as I walked out.
I also couldn't help but laugh while hearing all these people talking about how sweet the demo was and how totally awesome the full game will be and how super duper cool the limited edition version is.
I watched the review for this game on last night's X-Play episode, and they gave it 4 out of 5 stars... I can't really see MLB2K9 scoring as well as this game has. Hopefully, if I feel better later, I can run out to the store and pickup a copy for myself.
Here's a link to their review of MLB 09: The Show...
So... I have a question for those out there who have had a chance to play this game... what do you think of the "Road to the Show" mode? I'm really kind of liking it so far... it's a weird sort of challenge trying to attain all of the in-game goals that they want you to achieve during certain game situations.
All things considered, I think this is a big time improvement on last year's game. The only thing that I would change about the game would have to be the rather uninspired soundtrack.
I never really got into RTTS the last couple years. I like the concept of it, but I just can't play with a bunch of randomly generated players and the MLB players put in AAA because they're injured in real life.
I did play it enough in 08 to get to the majors, but never got any playing time, which struck me as odd since my first MLB at bat happened to be a walk off grand salami (no lie). I would get a pinch hit at bat maybe once every two or three weeks and finally got sent back to AAA where I was playing everyday, but terribly because I never earned enough points for training. I'd just rather play in the game than watch the days pass by and see my players skills deterirate.

Hence My MLB Music. Only song I didn't take off the jukebox was the Rise Against one.
Well, this is the first time that I've actually played the "RttS" mode and I must admit that it's got me kind of hooked... I stayed up until 1:30 this morning playing through some of the Cubs' spring training schedule. Created a shortstop with my name and likeness, just looking to get him some seasoning in the minors before the eventual call-up to the bigs (I hope).

Yes... I know... I was just making a comment on how uninspired the soundtrack seems to be in its entirety.
OMFG is that "perfect game" trophy going to take some time to get... no matter how hard I try, I just can't get past the sixth or seventh inning without giving up an eventual bloop single.
And on a side note... when I unlocked the trophy for getting the "walk off hit to win the game" earlier this afternoon, the "pitch a shutout" trophy never unlocked for me... WTF?
When I had MLB07:The Show for my psp all i did was play through RTTS, then one day i forgot my psp at work (this is like 2 weeks ago) and someone jacked it. I think that particular career I had been playing off and on for over a year, had almost every batting record, always led the league, was a guaranteed HOF'er, and yet its gone. Fuck my life :(
Being that my 360 is out for repairs I decided to shift over some play to my PS3. So I picked up a used copy of MLB The Show. I hope it's good. I'll probably suck at it but I like a good baseball game every now and then.

Personally, I think it's money well spent for almost any fan of the sport of baseball... not to mention it's SOOOOO much better than 2K's version of the game. Sure, it will take some time to get used to, but after that... you'll more than likely really like playing it.

OMGGGGGGG, Last night I was playing some guy online who was playing as the Yankees(What a Surprise!), and I had a No Hitter into the 9th Inning, with Rich Harden, 2 Outs 3-2 Count to Jeter, BAM, Single down the LF line. It was terrible.
Anyone else gotten that close, or got one, online?
