But in Raiden's defense, at least he had the decency to cover his junk while running around and doing naked cartwheels... I'll give him that much credit.
I wouldn't say it was good, but I wouldn't really say it was bad either; it was a mediocre game at best.
With the first level, the level on the tanker, everyone was happy and excited to play as Solid Snake again. At the end of it, there's a twist, and somehow you get roped into playing as a little acrobatic blonde kid codenamed Raiden.
Now lets just stop there for a minute; EVERYONE who played the original MGS was all up in arms about playing as a guy who was nowhere near as badass as Solid Snake. After all, who could be? He is THE legendary Solid Snake, right? Well, Hideo Kojima was absolutely pissed about his fans hatin' on Raiden, as he put months and months into this character, just to ensure that everyone liked him. So, to get back at everyone, he decided to make Raiden a total badass in MGS4, and everyone was like... "OMG NO WAI! THATS RAIDEN!!!"
Anyway, the game was mediocre, like I said, and okay storyline, and fairly lame boss battles. Kinda ripped of MGS big time, with all the characters and whatnot.
I'd still go out and buy and play it if I hadn't of beaten it a couple times.
And yet there are some pantywastes out there in internet land who think Sam Fisher can "kick his ass", if a fight between them was possible... gimme a friggin' break.
I just started plaing through it again, and I think like I did years ago, that its a very solid game. No pun intended. The story if you are into the metal gear, and metal gear solid story, is really all that I am interested in with the game. Otherwise, its just like the first one, only prettier, first person view, better AI two playable characters, two seperate scenarios, and just lots more weird shit...
Do I think its a good game, yes
Do I think its better than the first, no, though functionally yes
Is it even second place among metal gear series? no...
I would actually say its the worse game in the metal gear series... but thats not neccesarily a bad thing considering how good all the games actually are.
