Rep Power: 0 | Does anyone have any suggestions?? I'm an avid gamer, but most of the games I end up playing are single player only and, well, I'd like to branch out. I have several fighting style games (Tekken, Soul Calibur, DBZ), but they get old after a while. I was hoping that there may be some 2 or more player games that I can try out, but I need a push in the right direction. I'm not a fan of shooter, sport, or PS-Online style games but can't get enough of RPG, action, and puzzle games (examples: Tomb Raider, the FF series, God of War). Can anyone suggest some games that me and my friends can play together in co-op or head to head fun? |

Rep Power: 2 | It is a shooter, but Army of Two is a fantastic co-op game. My roomate and I have played through the story 3 or 4 times. The dialogue is hilarious too. The online is also co-op, but we didn't find it near as fun. |

Rep Power: 0 | You can try out X-man Legends.. (1-4 players cooperative) or maybe Champions of Norrath and Champions of Norrath - Return to Arms... (1-4 players cooperative)
I personally prefer Champs over X-man.. ______________________ A brand new MMORPG developed from scratch by real programmers/gamers.
The Mafia Underground is a mafia based game in which you play the role of a Mafioso trying to make your way through the tough underground world of the Mafia.

Rep Power: 0 | one of my favorite games was one for Super Nintendo; the secret of mana. you could play the story alone or a second person could control one of the other characters. it was way more fun to go through the story as a team. no split screen or "i play then you play" like Mario type games but real team work. that's the kind of games I'm looking for. great comedy or twisted stories are a plus. I have Gauntlet Legends, but it doesn't have much of a story. me and my friends need something to keep the ADHD at bay, lol. |

Rep Power: 2 | You didn't really specify which system, but if your talkin next gen (or I should be saying current gen) there is really nothing. I've realized that almost all games are either one player and online, but no co op splitscreen play. But, of course, the best games to play with your friends is guitar hero or rockband. ______________________ JT SUPER FLY |

Rep Power: 0 | You would probably enjoy Lord of the Rings: Conquest and Resident Evil 5.
Co-op LOTR can be played either through campaign with someone in the same room or online with other players. The gameplay is similar to the Star Wars Battlefront series -- just without the guns and Storm Troopers :p It's actually made by the same guys who made the SW:B series, too.... just so you know....
I am not a fan of shooter games either (don't like first-person shooters but some third-person ones are okay), but I thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil 5. You can play co-op online or with someone else in the room with you. If you do play by yourself, you will be stuck playing with an AI Sheva who, I heard, does not combine herbs and does little things that might annoy you... but I've never tried, so I can't say if the AI blows. I always played with someone else, and that was REALLY fun.
Also, I saw Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, which is a RPG, recently at a Gamestop. Peeked at the back and saw it was for 1-2 players, but I'm not sure what types of 2-player modes there are.
If you want to check out older games and have a Wii, try out Toejam & Earl. It's about two aliens who crashed on our planet and have to look for the scattered pieces from their broken ship. They encounter earthlings and objects, and it's quite funny.
Good luck! And do share your findings with others here as well. Seems like you and I like the same types of games :)
EDIT: You might also want to try out Grand Theft Auto and Saint's Row games. LOTS of fun! |

Rep Power: 0 | Whoa, whoa, whoa, people. One step at a time. How about a multiplayer RPG; not mmorpgs, but stuff like Phantasy Star Online & Monster Hunter. You can play singleplayer, with multiplayer being an option. |

Rep Power: 0 | I would recommend Namco's Tales Series. Great multi-player RPG's. I would recommend them all for RPG fan's but be aware that Tales of Legendia is only single player. |

Rep Power: 1 | Take it slow There are plenty of fun two player games out there. Many great ones are on the older systems and there are some pretty cool ones out for next gen consoles.
Start out small and try Diablo for ps1.It is a great hack and slash role playing game with deep character building options and spell choices. You can play co op with another player and level up your characters together through the many levels the game has.
Also try checking out contra shattered soldier for ps2.its not an rpg but its an addictive one or two player action game that will captivate you for hours.
My final suggestion would be In To The Abyss for nintendo ds.You can link up with each other and play through the game.It is also avery fun and addictive rpg.
Good luck on your choice. ______________________ |

Rep Power: 0 | There are a lot of games where a second player could be your party member. As far as group RPGs go there were less that I am aware of, and of those Marvel's Ultimate Alliance 1+2 stick out to me as worth while (2 vastly over 1 for a superior storyline).
Diablo which was mentioned by another poster is a grand suggestion as the game is vastly enjoyable, less so when compared to the computer game but still enjoyable, and I've "partied" with many a friend to play the game.
The Tales series, again mentioned early, is good but some of its titles are hit and miss when compared to some of the games in the series.
Lets not forget Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance either, an amazing game and plays much like Diablo with a second player feature. I think most Forgotten Realm games come with that second player feature, not 100% sure about that though.
Dynasty warriors series and many other similar ones allow for two players in direct conflict to play. its enjoyable I feel, personally I only play the game when there is a second player available because it can become and actual challenge.
Hmmm then there are Gundam/Robotech style games, which allow for face offs in a more action based battle style than traditional fighters. But that is about all I can think of not already mentioned |
