It finally happened! I broke a controller because of this piece of shit game! It is really tough to deal with this game's bullshit anymore. I've put days into it and all I can say this is not socom. This is straight up the biggest heap of garbage ever and no matter what they do they will not fix it. I want to trade it in to gamestop for the $5 they'll give me, but I know my weak ass won't do it and will probably play it in a couple days (sad I know). I just want to ram this game down Slant Six's throat right now.
BEEN THERE I HAVE A COLLECTION OF CONTROLLERS IN A BOX TAGGED WITH DATES GAMES THEY LOST THEIR LIFE TO...MOST SAY SOCOM...
Why anyone would break a controller over such an uncompleted game is beyond me... I just couldn't get that upset with a game, I guess... especially one that's as "broken" as this one.
Here's to hoping that the new patch gets it closer to running like it should have about six months ago.

I'm super competitive and I love socom, and when something doesn't go my way when it should it can get ugly. Some douche who killed me after I clear as day just tore him a new one (I mean you could see bullet holes in his head) said "get on my level" and that controller went flying straight to the ground. I got so fed up of people turning around after taking 20 rounds and killing me and all the other flaws of this stupid game just reached a breaking point for me. I do regret breaking it but I bought a new white dualshock controller and plan on just shutting off the video games and walking away like I normally do when things get bad. If I was smart I would have broke the game instead of the controller because I could buy the game for under $10 off ebay.
I'm a big fan of spiking controllers, but the latest ones with +$50 price tags have put a damper on my habit.
Socom's caused its share of it too. In fact one time on S3 I got so pissed off that I opened the living room window of my 2nd floor apartment and threw my controller out into the street.
You could probably hand someone a heaping bag of fresh dog shit and in return they'd give you a copy of Confrontation.
Wow i found that really funny lol. I havent played this game in a month and a half, From people who have been playing the game for a while how complete would you say the game is now as far as playability?

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
I'm not about to hold my breath, but I actually think that if they get this newest patch right for a change, the game will be pretty entertaining. I still contend that it has the best hit detection of the Socom series...
But something that happened Thursday night while playing kinda pissed me off... I called out and threw the switch in the red room to blow up one of the bridges... as I am dropping down the freshly destroyed bridge, my clownshoe brother is "allowed" to throw the switch again, teamkilling me as though I was shot with a silenced weapon.
Aside from that, the game wasn't at all horrible to play... it's terribly average to a fault, but definitely not the worst online shooter that I've played recently.
man i remember when i posted this thread..i was quite pissed off at the disconnections, lag and whatnot. but now i love this game. ppl are ripping into s6 way too much on hte psforums. ppl just have to remember the state of the game when it was released and compare it to how it is now. i can play on american servers from new zealand and have no major lag problems. i think this game after 1.5/1.6 would probably go beyond the expectations i had 4 it before it was released. and once the dlc comes out and i can finally play some more maps (hopefully fishhook, blizzard, nstalker etc..) i will be a very happy boy. i think confrontation deserved the 4.5 it got on release, but nobody in their right mind wud give it under an 8 in a few months time (not that i really care, just hurt to see socom getting ripped into by all these reviewers).
s6 is slow to get things right, but at least they got there in the end. they may not make the most pretty looking games, but at least they got the gameplay fairly spot on (with a few quirks here and there). and most of all they were resilient. they kept releasing patches after patches until one worked :). kudos s6
