Lots of luck getting on their servers... I've tried it now a few times in a row, and I keep getting the "failure" messages after each and every attempt.
Sucks b/c i was having a **** load of fun. just got in 3 hours of gameplay and only once it froze on me and thats when the servers went down. the game runs smoothly (without my router) and the new maps are incredible. im sure the xbox luvers will try to bash it but if you were once addicted to socom in the past you might have a problem keeping your job and your girlfriend in the future. there were 15+ thousand people online and counting when i got booted.

I haven't got to play it yet,
I remember a question and answer thing with one of the devs of the game, and they said the game will be in 720p and that's, The back of the box says 720p, 1080i and 1080p. I was extremely happy when I read this.
I've played one game so far.
The load times are pretty slow, but its nowhere near as bad as the beta.
The only lag I have experienced was frame rate when I'm watching someone else. Nothing I can't deal with.
The mics are working much better now.
The people are also super cool too.
After player a little longer, I think I am hooked. Playing with a lot of my old Socom friends definitely made the game more enjoyable. Servers are taking a beating right now, and some issues with joining games, and etc, but it's the first day of the actual game, and it is already 10x better than the beta.

That's good to hear Zero, I'll be looking forward to finally hopping on when I get home. I'll be playing late into the night, so if anyone is one, hit me up with an invite during the night. I'll be one, and hopefully with being on that late, the servers are going to be doing awesome.
I got to play one round that was uninterrupted. The gameplay is pretty smooth, but the numerous server issues are quite frustrating. I am going to call it an early night and give it a whirl over the weekend.
This game is going to be my **** for the next couple months. Once they fix it up a little with the server errors, I'll be set. Way better than the beta was.

I just played my first game, all the way though, with no problems except for the laggy framerate everynow and again. Nothing major though. My team won, and I got killed, and got kills.
I am very happy with this game right now, and in my book, once they get the server issues fixed, SO-CRACK, is back.

I was really skeptic about this game because of the beta...just really unstable and laggy...and I know the servers are in the shits right now. But, I have to say this game is very fun in its own way. It has an S2-esque flavor with it...although I said its fun in its own way. The only things that I feel they need to fix up are:
-Reloading
-The Community/Lobby Features
-Grenades
-Character Movement a bit
Also gimme back my chatbox.
Other than that...once you get past the server issues...this game is very very fun...and check this out...I wasn't playing with anyone I knew. I get ****ing bored if I play by myself. Overall...a 7/10 with server issues and occasional little bugs...
But within the 9/10 range once they fix the servers and little bugs.
I'm impressed. However, lets see how this plays out in the long run and if they add new maps or guns.

I still can't get logged into their servers. Only this time, I am getting a different message... seems like I can't get past the "initializing network" part of the login process. More than 12 hours later, and I still can't get on their servers. Good times.
I cant play the game because i bought socom, nba2k9 and saints row 2 at toys r us as part of the buy 2 get one free sale, only to find out there was no ****in cd in the nba 2k9. so i have to leave both SOCOM and SR2 still in the box and take them all back and get another game since it was the last 2k9 availible for the 360. Last night was so wasted just looking at these games i couldnt play.

From what I've seen (watched Rick play), it looks pretty solid. Problems start to come up when the servers start getting busy, but that should be remedied soon. I dislike that they didn't add any more customization to how your character looks. There's nothing new (except the stuff for the special forces that were previosly unavailable) in that department. I didn't get to see all of the maps, but the ones I've seen were pretty cool.

Well, looks like I know where my next couple paychecks are going. With people saying the final release is a lot better than the beta, I'll have to pick this up in a few weeks.
This weekend my paycheck is going towards getting new brakes for my car & Rock Band 2
Next week I'll probably hold onto to recover from my car payment
And perhaps I can get Socom with the next one.
Anyone care to loan me $120 so I can get Gears 2 and Fracture along with all this?
Well, I just got done playing, and I'm impressed. The gameplay was relatively smooth, audio and graphics were good (though the graphics aren't mind-blowing, they're good). The levels look pretty cool. My main gripe is the lack of weapons and customization. There are five or six different special forces, so that's only three or four guns that weren't in the beta. Each one gets their own special camo, but they aren't really, special. Gun mechanics are pretty good. M14 is pimpin', same with the AK. Didn't get any of the connection issues that were running rampant yesterday (but that might be due to the fact that it's mid-day most everywhere in the US). Did surprisingly good for my first time on since about the second week of the beta. Overall, I'd say it's good and fun.
