the best thing 6 should do is delay this game since i d.l. the 1.50 patch Monday. i haven't been able to sign in the latest window that popped up. said you must be signed in which i was. sign in try to join a game it freezes and automatically signed me out. i deleted my profile and the game d.l. the game again thinking maybe i had a corrupt file. ran into the same problems so i guess extending the beta really did nothing to help the game. all it did was create a truck load of new problems with a game that is about 70% complete in my opinion. that is less then 10 days before its release 6 has a long road ahead of them.

I have been playing for roughly three hours now, and I must say I have had a great time.
The people in a room with are really good players, and there is that major lag only once every five or six minutes. If you get that taken care of, and get the minor issues worked out.
Another thing is...
Being able to move while looking at the scoreboard,
and,
having the choice to use the D-pad for leaning, rather than the sixaxis. I hate it to be honest. I lay in weird spots when playing my video games, and my guy wants to constantly lean. If I turn it off, I cannot lean at all.
I will not be worry about getting this game most likely within a month of its release.
I think it's safe to say that I will not be playing SOCOM until at least next weekend. I'm going to save myself the disappointment that I will probably discover by playing on launch day with the overwhelming server issue. I'm banking on things being calmed down by Friday or Saturday and hopefully the game will deliver a consistent lag free experience (this is my biggest concern. If they fix the lag issues, the game is PERFECT in my opinion).
I'm getting mine on release day, but I'm just gonna make my settings and characters and accept my clan invite. I might try and play a game or two, but other than that, I'm gonna give it a day or or so.
I am thinking about canceling my pre-order just to scope out the game. The last few updates have gotten me worried. If it is this bad at release, I just wouldn't play it until it gets fixed. So if it is, I would rather buy one of the other games coming out in the time frame while I wait for Socom.
I haven't viewed this thread for a while nor have I been able to hop on Socom but wow, it seems like I have not missed much. Nothing but more frustrations. I'm glad I haven't pre-ordered this game, I'll be waiting til I hear everyone's feedback before I run out and get it.
It seems that Slant Six only recently became aware that "European" is not a language, that seems to be their excuse for the delayed EU release, but nobody I've talked to is all that bothered. Given the strength of the autumn releases a lot of American players will probably have gotten bored by the end of November, and S6 might just be able to release a solid patch by then, so the servers and the game itself should run nicely for Europe.
1.60 hasn't eliminated the problems of 1.50, it just seems to have turned them into a guerilla force... you think the game will run then BAM! Error messages flood in, you get disconnected repeatedly and finally the PS3 resets under the weight of it all. It just seems to be luck that keeps people playing now.
Everyone seems to be canceling their pre-orders now... I know I'm going to keep mine. There are only about 2 games that I'm looking forward to right now and I don't think it will make much of a difference.
I'm still going to pick it up, but like many other people, I'm not touching those servers at least until the weekend. The thought crossed my mind of not even picking up the game, but I came to the conclusion that I have too much fun playing the game (with minimal problems), unlike the majority of people I talk to. I just hope SS can fix the problems so more people will buy and play the game as well.
I'm still getting it. I just cant resist the fun i had playing the beta, and not getting the game Plus, new maps like my personal favorite Desert Glory.
