Hi , What's your impression on the concept of a Metal gear movie, that according toreports, may soon come out ?
a ) Will it work ?
b) Or otherwise, how would you like it to be ? Is any change required?
c) What about the cast? ( Bale, David hayter, cough...:) , Who else for the remaining people...?
d) Where should it start from ?
e) Since spoilers play a big part in the franchise, will the same plot do it again ?
f) How much of a success will it really be? ( We could compare it in relative terms with some other hollywood movies here, perhaps )

i think it'd be pretty cool if they made a series of Metal Gear Movies, much like the games. If all the voice actors from the playstation series were to star, it would be a nice touch, but im not sure this would happen because some of them are only really voice over actors, not on screen stars. I think they should follow the storyline from the games, maybe tweak it slightly to avoid predictability but i think it would be pretty successful, much like Tomb Raider was!
I was actually thinking about this a couple days ago. I think if they do have a movie they really have to choose their characters well. But I don't think their has ever been a real successful game based movie.

I think a lot of the characters and themes of Metal Gear would have a hard time being accepted by western audiances. In addition to that, Metal Gear's a niche title. It's not widely popular, so it'd have a small audience off the bat.
Honestly, I don't see a movie ever happening. Christ, they even abandoned the Halo movie and that title has a much larger fanbase, and a movie would've made money hand over fist.
Best bet, spend a good bit of money on a high quality anime movie, direct to DVD. The eastern and western markets will eat it up.
well the max payne movie is looking REALLY good, with an even smaller fanbase, so Im assuming if done right, they could make a good MGS movie? But why have a movie when you can just play MGS4 act 3-6?

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
the only way a MGS movie could hurt the name is if it was as bad as dead or alive(low budget, small ****,straight to dvd, etc).
If anything, movies like STreet Fighter(it wasnt good but i loved it as a kid) Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, and yes the Resident evil movies(that were hits in a different way than the game) give the game even more recognition. As long as Uwe Boll Doesnt dorect it, and Konami has 50% creative say so, ill watch it, because honestly i cant expect any game movie to be exactly like the game. Ill enjoy it for what it is.

I think if they used the titles for the separate games, Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, Guns of the Patriots, it would be better than using "METAL GEAR SOLID" as a movie title. They would also need to focus more heavily on the story and less action.
Get a petition together, get 2500 signatures, and hand it over to me.
After which, I'll proceed to go down to Konami's Offices, storm in through the doors w/ my fireteam, and approach the HFIC (Head F-er In Charge), and let him know:
"Look, *****.
This is how it is. You can either take the suggestions listed here, and make a massive hit-movie, that'll make you, and your children's children; and your illegitemate children's children more rich than the fiber a Captain spits out with all the B.S. he says...
Or you can die when I put this AP 5.56 through your upper lip.
It's your choice.
You have 3 seconds."
I'm telling you, guys. That **** would WORK!!!!
Who's in?

Playing through all of the MG games always left me with the feeling of just having watched an epic movie, only I was able to control the events in said movie... well, to a certain degree, at least.
Collider.com has an interview up with Mike De Luca, the producer for the Metal Gear Solid movie. He’s produced films such as Boogie Nights, Little Nicky, and the upcoming 21. In the interview, he has a really blunt answer for the most likely common question of “What are you doing to do to finally make a kick-*** video game movie?”
“I mean, hopefully not screw it up. For me adapting a video game is just like adapting a book or a play or any other…whenever you’re adapting from another medium for film you try to take into account what you need to do to make it a movie. With books it’s how you compensate for not being inside a character’s head and with video games I think what you have to compensate for is the loss of interactivity, you know.”
He also mentions that he wants viewers to have the same feeling they had as when they left “Robocop” or “The Matrix” which, if he can pull off, would be very a welcome change to the sea of Street Fighter and Hitman-type movies out there.
An another good fact is that, they are planning to get writer/director Kurt Wimmer to adopt the screenplay for the film. Though De Luca didn’t directly state it, this probably means that Wimmer is also up to direct the big budget affair, as his previous films, Equilibrium starring Christian Bale and Ultraviolet starring Millo Jovovich, were similar fanboy-intensive, kinetic action/genre flicks. Neither one of those films connected at the box office, however, so MGS would be the director’s closest shot at bagging a sure thing, the whole video game curse notwithstanding. Wimmer’s next screenplay to hit the big screen will be April’s LAPD thriller Street Kings with Keanu Reeves.
I'd be very concerned that the producer thinks that RoboCop and The Matrix are comparable films.
True, but at least it's good that he has the right idea about the feel the movie should convey........ .
However i think that a good MGS4 MOvie can be directed only by Wachowski brothers or Cristopher Nolan. It would be really hard to expect a bad METAL gear movie out of them.
