When I watched the Extra DVD for my MGS4, Kojima said this was the last MG with snake in it ( as a main character) ... which I am hoping means that they will have a spin off..
I have heard that some believe this spin off MG series will invole Raiden..
But a lot of people are upset about this , and don't approve of Raiden being the main character... kinda like the rejection he got in MGS2...
Can I get some Input on what people don't like about him?
The only thing that really annoyed me about Raiden is in MGS4.. when he is crying to snake about not wanting to be alone.. I was kinda like " wtf... what a little ***** , shut up Raiden and be a man damn it!"
Also... does anyone know what is up with his Android body? me and my friend are still trying to figure it out...
It'd be cool to see someone like Meryl take the lead.
In order to have a successful spin-off, you'd need to distance it as far from Snake as possible. Otherwise people will always compare the two characters.
I wouldn't mind playing as Raiden during the events between MGS2 and MGS4. Because he and Snake went on a mission to rescue Sunny from the Patriots and then he was captured and turned into the Cyborg Ninja.
His suit. I downloaded the MGS Data Base. It said that after he rescued Sunny, the Patriots captured him and experimented on him. They took his head and spine and inserted it into a suit similar to the Cyborg Ninja's suit in MGS1 and MGS2.
Im sorry but the role that Raiden played in MGS4 totally redeemed his "sissy" like image in MGS2. If there was a spinoff I wouldn't mind playing as him, but hopefully theres no spinoff in the first place. Kojima just ended the Metal Gear saga in the best way possible, and all good things (especially the great things) must end...atleast thats my opnion.
At the end of MGS4 it looks like Raiden's going to settle down and father his son and Rosemary, instead of going back to combat. So I'd think that his story would end there.
But I still wouldn't mind playing as him if Kojima could make it work

That's actually a pretty cool concept but I don't think it would be done, at least not with Snake in it. If it is done with Snake then Hideo will put work into it. There actually was not supposed to be a MGS2, 3 or 4 but he was convinced to continue on so who knows?
I don't want another MGS. Because I have a feeling it would be dumb. I beat 1, 2, and 4. I'm waiting to get a copy of 3. But if they made a new one, it wouldn't live up to the others. However, I wouldn't mind another game of the same style as MGS.
I totally agree with this statement... my opinion of Raiden did a complete 180 degree turn after seeing what he did in MGS4.
And not being able to be Solid Snake in a future MGS game just wouldn't be a proper MGS game.
That's what Hideo Kojima wanted though. His basic thoughts were probably, "ok, you all didn't like Raiden in Sons of Liberty, now I'm going to MAKE you like him in Guns of the Patriots!"

ROFL. You guys are hilarious.
Idk, personally I've always liked raiden. Don't get me wrong, I was pissed when I realized I only got to play with solid snake for like half an hour, but that didn't mean Raiden was a bad character in MGS2 to me. After playing with Raiden, it made me appreciate snake and his wisdom more.
