Although I can't say I'm 100% positive this was my favorite battle because it's been awhile since I played the first three, my favorite from memory was sniper duel vs The End in MGS3. I remember the first time fighting him I was laying there and he came up behind me and scared the **** out of me when he knocks you unconscious. It was such an intense fight because you really had to be smart to drop him. The large valley you fight him in was so kickass. I would have to say when it comes to boss battle MGS prettty much takes it all when compared to other games.

The End was pretty freaking epic, that takes the win for me as well.
Although the REX vs RAY fight was pretty awesome as well.
The end of MGS2 solely because I liked using the sword
Fighting 5 RAYS at once was the most epic Metal Gear fight, besides the rex vs ray, but that wasn't a conventional one.
Also, I loved the Raven fight back in MGS1.
Personally my favorite battle was the Psycho Mantis battle. It was really memorable and awesome.
Yeah, I agree... it was a tough task just trying to figure out the correct way to get past him. Some of the smack talking that he did before the battle started was pretty cool, too.

I wasn't able to play MGS3 and experience the one on one sniper duel with The End, sadly. However, the Psycho Mantis and Rex vs. Ray battle are on a whole different level for me. But here's my top three.
3) Snake vs Rex
2) Raiden vs. Rays/Solidus
1) Crying Wolf
I chose Crying Wolf as numero uno because I first played it on Extreme and that **** took me a bit...but was extremely epic. The wolves after the fight was so nostalgic and reminded me when the ****ers used to attack you and you needed Sniper Wolf's Hanky. It was a great battle overall especially for it to not be the last boss fight in the game.

A Custom One Would Be Cool ^^
In the entire series I liked the Harrier. For some reason it felt great shooting that thing down. Also the cut scene at the end was awesome.
For games in the Metal Gear Solid series these are my Favorites:
MGS1 - The Hind and Liquid. Too close between the two.
MGS2 - Harrier as I said. 2nd would be Solidus
MGS3 - The Boss
MGS4 - Rex vs. Ray
For me even though maybe it wasn't the toughest or the most creative, the fight with The Boss in MGS3 was by far my favorite. Just the setting it takes place in with all the white flowers and the relationship between The Boss and Big Boss had me completley involved.
Other favorites.
Liquid/Liquid Ocelot/Ocelot (MGS4) Who doesn't love a good ol' fist fight?
The End (MGS3)
Psycho Mantis (MGS1)
MGS1:Snake vs.Psycho Mantis
took me like 2 hours and 4 phone calls... to figure it out
MGS2: NOT THE REX FIGHT!
I dont even wanna talk about this...I hate Raiden and his flippin ***..
MGS3:Snake vs. The Sorrow..
changed the way I play mgs.....
MGS4:Snake vs. Crying wolf
Cause I felt gangster after beating her and I got her mask!
yay....

Wow, I'm surprised at all the harrier and crying wolf love going on here. The harrier was kind of just "meh" for me, and the crying wolf fight was a ***** until I figured out where all of her spots were.
I like the idea of posting our favorites from each game. So...
MGS: Sniper Wolf, Part 2.
MGS2: Ray battle.
MGS3: The End.
MGS4: Rex VS Ray.
MGS: Closely followed by anything with Liquid in it.
MGS2: In my mind, this was actually more epic than Ray vs Rex. On normal, I thought it a ***** to fight 5 rays, even with the strategy down. Can't image what it would have been like on anything else.
MGS3: If you don't cheat by killing The End with the SVD, setting your clock forward, or stealth camo, this is the coolest boss fight in history.
MGS4: If the last time I tried to beat the final boss fight wasn't such a total *****, my vote MAY have gone to that. Alas, I got ****ing tired of snake not listening to my controller input, so that basically ruined the fight for me.
It was an awesome concept to such as old school game.
MGS2- Raiden vs Solidus
Basically a sword fight and on harder difficulties you had to move a lot and not suck.
MGS3- Snake vs The Boss
Just an absolute awesome ending to this game. The fight itself was extremely emotional and the cutscenes before and after this fight just really stir up some things.
MGS4- Snake vs Liquid Ocelot/Liquid/Ocelot
This fight was perfect because Snake and Liquid basically fought one another at the end of this game the same way they fought at the end of MGS1 and ending a series like that was just badass, plus the whole mechanics used in this particular fight were pretty cool.
I did like The End fight on MGS3 but I only liked it the first time I played the game. Every other time I played it, I found it too easy to find and sneak up on The End. You don't even have to move around slowly like a sniper at all.

I never found the places where he hide at all,it was to damn difficult to find him for me and all i did was shoot randomly so he could shoot me once, thats the only time i knew where he was,it took me about 2 hours and like 6 continues to kill his f@king @ss.Damn he was hard to kill....But for me the coolest boss battle would have to be the good old fist fight with liquid ocelot on msg4.A PERFECT ENDING FOR A PERFECT GAME...

If you use the directional mic you can listen for him breathing and sometimes talking. He's an old man so he breaths heavy. From there, just figure out where about he's at and start moving to get behind him.
If you want his Mosin Nagant and Camo, when you sneak up behind him the first time, hold him up then point at his head when he gets down. Do this multiple times and he'll drop the camo. He'll get up and drop a stun grenade at the same time, just run with him. Turn your thermal goggles on and follow his footsteps to his next spot. Generally he'll run to the next closest vantage point. If you have the handkerchiefs from the scientist area, use those on The End and they will knock him out pretty quickly.
MGS 4 - Pretty tough choice for this category but I'd have to say Old Snake Vs Liquid Ocelot/Liquid/Ocelot ....I would have loved to have played as Raiden when he fought Vamp. Lol so many times I've gotten blown up trying to watch their final fight cut scene
The fist fight took the cake though...everything was epic and such a great way they pulled it off. The memorable music and how they made Liquid Ocelot change personalities during the fight. So cool XD
My favorite would have to be the fist fight at the end of MGS4. It was purely epic. I knew it was almost over and it made me sad. I really didn't even want to finish the fight, lol.
