I checked out your blog. It seems that you started to struggle with creating new reasons not to buy the game, so you just started making stuff up. There is no way in hell you now smoke two packs a day after seeing some smoking in a video game, if you are that weak minded I'm surprised these video games haven't convinced you to go on a murder spree first (which you also say this game will cause people to do). Also, smoking is definitely NOT depicted as cool in this game. Snake is the only one who smokes, and everyone else hates when he does it. At the end of the act 5 briefing, he nearly DIES because of his smoking, and than goes back for another one. Seriously, after watching that briefing I doubt I'll ever touch a cigarette again (not that I have been in the last few years anyway).
Also, wtf is with your #2 reason? Apparently gamers aren't supposed to like playing a game the way they want to now? When have you ever heard of multiple paths to completion being a bad thing? And attacking every situation the way you see fit- either sneaking around without even touching the enemy, clearing a path for yourself through their front lines, helping out the militia, or just going on a killing spree- is supposed to be a detraction? Sorry, but I'm just not seeing how any of that makes the game worse, and I'll be hard pressed to find someone who agrees with you.
The octocamo system was put in place because NOBODY LIKED THE OLD IMPLEMENTATION. You'd have to crawl 5 feet, see your camo drop, press start, search through all of your camouflage to find the best one for the situation, change to it, exit the menu, crawl another 10 feet, repeat. It was the a very inefficient and annoying system in my opinion. The new one dramatically simplifies the old system- crawl a few feet, see your camo drop, stay still for a second, start crawling again, repeat. Also, the octocamo system is MUCH more realistic than the old system (how can snake change his entire outfit that fast without being seen?), and since realism is apparently a big deal to you, I wonder why you wouldn't take that as a plus as well. Oh yeah, and video games IN GENERAL aren't realistic. What is wrong with mixing a bit of fantasy in with the near future? All the technology could conceivably exist, and they even explained the arm thing to something believable instead of the "SPIRIT INFECTION!!!" like they did in MGS2. Alright, the sorrow and mantis were a bit of a reach, but they were my two favorite bosses (right after Raven, that is), so if you don't like them, well screw you.
As for the spoilers, they do this with any game worth buying. With the exception of mario, basically every game on any "List of the greatest games" contains spoilers, and were enhanced by them. MGS4 was no exception. If you want to talk to someone about the game, simply ask "How far are you into the game?". They can simply respond with what act they are on without spoiling anything, and you can talk about all the acts both of you have completed from there. Better yet, just ask "Have you beat it yet?", so you both can actually talk about it in full. Simply wait until they beat it and just talk about other things otherwise. It's not that foreign of a concept.
Seriously. At first, I respected you because you had seemed to be mature, and well, not full of total ********. However, between the above statement, the statement about smoking, and the statement about violence later on in your blog post, I have to say you are probably one of the most ignorant people I have ever seen come on these forums. You are a liar, you exaggerate, and literally only 2 of your 10 reasons why "MGS4 sucks" have any validity to them. There were others that I can agree with are problems, but you present them so poorly and lie in them as well that I can't even support you in those. Seriously, if you claim to take a definition from Merriam Webster's dictionary, ACTUALLY TAKE A DEFINITION FROM THEIR DICTIONARY, not some random ******** you made on the spot with absolutely nothing to do with the word you are defining.

MGS4 is as good as all the other Metal Gear games with a little more "perfection". The only cons are the loading screens and some characters (Snake is like 54 yrs. old...). Metal Gear Solid 4 is the MG series certainly at its best. SO person that made this thread,

Snake is old as hell for a reason though and I'm not saying that you don't understand why but it kills me when people bash this game for that reason when they don't know anything about the game at all.
